On an inspection today and found this natural gas regulator and shut off in the attic of a home. It’s not labeled as to what it controls, and I see that opinions seem to vary on if it’s even allowed to be in the attic. Any thoughts?
I can’t imagine that is accessible, especially if they want to add insulation.

If it’s not ventless and being in a hot attic wouldn’t be too good either.
