Ultimately, this here is a gas stove from 1951 where the oven and broiler are only on the right side. If this valve sits beneath the stove and pipe is run and properly doped from under to behind the stove, would that be safe? Or is it time to reroute the line coming from the basement?
The valve must be located in the room and within 6’ of the appliance. Is there a better location for it using those requirements? Behind/under the range is an acceptable location.
Thank you! technically it is within 6’. Does it pose a risk to be under the appliance though? Honestly there really isn’t a more suitable location unless I reroute the pipe from the basement to come through the wall behind rather than floor beneath, and that’ll be a very annoying task
Based on the picture, the issue seems to occur when replacing the range. The line may have come into contact with the range, preventing it from being fully inserted. If this is the case and you have access to reroute the line coming from the basement, it would likely be a good idea to proceed with that adjustment.
