I recently priced a fuel injector for a f350 6.4 diesel…250 each for duralast brand, the ford brand was 450 each… If you work on a diesel you better know what you’re doing because it could be…we… expensive either way.
Both have their uses. On the left is my M35 with a CAT 3116 diesel, on the right is my Power Wagon with the 6.4Hemi.
Well that either a real old video or he found a unicorn.
The 7.3 L was introduced in 2020.

I stand corrected. I thought the newest one was a 7.0.
The original was a 7.3 also.
I thought it was funny that Ford came out with a new gas 7.3 engine considering the 7.3 diesel that was in production for so many years. Bound to lead to confusion.
The 7.3 diesel was SO good, maybe they thought the name would rub off on the gasser.
You can definitely hear them coming buy yeah, one of the best modern diesel engines out there.
I just purchased a new 2024 Tundra i-FORCE MAX (Hybrid) the newer Tundras have a larger towing capacity than the previous generations. Max Towing for mine just shy of 12,000 lbs. I purchased mine about 3 months ago and I am consistently getting 18.5-19 MPG in city driving. We have only been able to take one trip with the camper and I got just about 14 MPG on the round trip (home is at 2,500 msl and lake was at 9,200 msl). Our camper is about 4,500 lbs empty So I’m guessing we had another 500 lbs + in gear. Towed with no problem, handled wind and let us pass simi trucks with ease. Many of the Tundras have Built in towing packages including brakes and parking assist… etc.
I bought mine with the intent of retiring and towing our trailer. The Hybrid gives the Truck about 50 extra hp and another 100 ft. #s of torque…You really know it when the Electric Kicks in!!
So if you haven’t checked out the newer Tundras, you may want to take a look.
Not specifically at you Larry… just everyone be careful getting wooed by this number. It’s virtually impossible to attain unless you have nothing in the truck as payload. The way manufacturers flash big towing numbers is borderline fraudulent. Two concepts/numbers with towing: What the truck can pull and what it can carry. What it can pull seems to get all the press while what it can carry is almost always going to be the limiting factor with your average camper.
I always thought that “payload” and “towing” capacity were different. What’s on the back as opposed to pulling. Thanks for the clarification!
Included in “payload” is the tongue weight of the trailer, or put another way, the amount of weight on the hitch.
When you declined the $1100.00 towing packaged…
All other thing aside, diesels are louder and have a unique odor.
They run a bit rougher. Maybe you need all that, maybe you want a better ride…
I went with a 2023 F-250 Lariat, 7.3l gas with under 19,000 miles. Looks brand new. Pulls and handles so much better than the Tundra when pulling my travel trailer. They made it easy for us older guys with knee & hip issues to get into the bed!
Beautiful truck congratulations
