Go pro details and hints

My daughter lent me her old GoPro (Hero 4) to play with and I finally got it to pair with my phone but I have had to order an SD card and a tripod mount because I will mount it to my painters pole. Strange little device and not particularly user friendly.

Any tips and hints for using this thing would be welcome here. Default settings and such. I don’t really intend to do video of a roof (I do that with the drone - when I use it) but you never know.

This may help you.

Thanks, I didnt even know there was a menu on the front screen.

My big question is what to do about the phone connection? I know when it is paired and connected the blue light flashes on the front. When I turn the camera off the blue light is still flashing. What I’ve done so far is go into settings and turn off the wifi - and then turn off the camera. Is there a setting so I could do this in one step?

This video answered the question about the 11:00 minute mark. Pressing the side button for three seconds after turning the GoPro off will turn off the wifi and blue light.

In the 50’s and 60’s we dreamed of a “spy camera” like the one below commonly advertised on the back of comic books. Never considered all the problems of obtaining film that small and developing and printing. How the world has changed.
