Anyone had experience with Granite Risk Management / Altisource? Received an email from them yesterday. They’re looking for inspectors to do draw and commercial inspections (I’m in the Richmond, VA area). Any feedback is appreciated.
Granite has been around for many years. They are a good company. If you have not done draw/progress inspections before, keep in mind they are nothing like a home inspection and the pay is nowhere the same, except for commercial draws. They are pretty easy do not take very long to complete.
They have been very proactive this year in their recruiting. They are not great about answering questions, so I passed.
i signed up but have yet to get anything from them. i figure it couldn’t hurt if nothing else was going on.
So I’m in the DFW/ North Texas area and I decided to give them a shot. I’ve done thousands of draw inspections over the years. I would love to hear from other people that work with them in regards to what they pay per draw? When they approached me they asked me for my pricing and said it was a lot less than what others charge so I may get a lot of work. Most draw inspections only take me about 10-15 minutes on site so if I can stack several per day it’s easy money. Draw Inspections have been my bread n butter for a long time however I’ve always worked directly for the lenders so this should be interesting.
Commercial draw work is not like residental draw work. Fees are a great deal more and you need to know the process of commercial construciton. I do a good number of them and fee range from $375 to $700 on the average. Keep in mind you will often be doing monthly visits a year or two on many projects! I have one huge project that is going on three years!
Be aware. There is a fraud alert from Altisource/Granite that there is fake recruiters posing as Altisource asking for personal information. I got a unsolicited request from them a couple days ago wanting me to join and my W9 for payment purposes on the introduction email. Phone call goes unanswered. Email responses are suspect. Scammers are everywhere.
This makes sense. I’ve had 3 or 4 different recruiters contact me in the last couple of months. They were all very pushy on trying to get W9 information.
