I am trying to find information on what is needed for a home to support the elderly and the handicapped. Things like hallway width and counter height. Does anyone know where I can find this information.

This is what I came up with on a search for Americans with Disabilities Act:

ADA Home Page - ada.gov - Information and Technical Assistance on ...
The ADA Home Page provides access to Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) regulations
for businesses and State and local governments, technical assistance ...
http://www.usdoj.gov/crt/ada/adahom1.htm
