Hi Cheryl, welcome to NACHI I’m sorry I cannot help you with training in the Seattle area, but or Washington Chapter starts up this month, maybe you shold attend that meeting and pick the brains of our other members there.

No you are not alone, there are many women in our proffesion some in partnerhip with their spouses and some by themselves. I can think of one of our members not to far from me ( Carla Horne from Meredith New Hampshire)

Regards

Gerry

Hi Cheryl, we are developing an on-line training program, but it is only in the pre-production stages at the moment and I doubt that, even the first part of it (it will be in 8 parts) will be ready until mid fall, you would not belive the time it takes to research it, write it, find the graphics, have Chris (webmaster) design it and finally beta test the system. We will be offering this free of charge to our members, keep an eye on the education section of this message board for future developements.

Regards

Cheryl:

1. Did you go thru the free online one at http://www.nachi.org/course.htm

2. We scheduled http://www.nachi.org/spokane.htm so the pass across WA would still be open. Hope to see you there.

3. You'll notice in that announcement, I've stopped using the word "wives" and now use "spouses." I'm trying to be as politically correct as a right wing Republican can.

4. A new member: Mary Anne Tonini, just faxed in her application from Indiana as I was typing this post. I'll process her application now.

Hi and thanks Nick! wow…I will look over that program this next week. So you are telling me that I can take this free course and become a home inspector? I thought it was necessary to take a hands on course. This is what I was told by the potential employer I have an interview with. thanks again icon_biggrin.gif

No initial course requirements in WA. Our course at http://www.nachi.org/course.htm (free) is probably more detail than one needs. A few mock inspections reviewed by our report review committee would help (free). You learn a bit from taking our online exam http://www.nachi.org/nie.htm as well (free). Ride alongs with a veteran inspector would help you too.

I'd like to keep the money in the family. What kind of "sign company" do you run. Do you make vinyl banners for NACHI Chapters? Signs for trucks?

Nick

NACHI pays $175 for a 3’ x 8’ vinyl banner. Blue and red on white with rings. See: http://www.nachi.org/mokan2.htm

Are we getting whacked or not?
