1. So I clicked on the link and it spun me back to the NACHI home page... so then,
2. I pasted the link into my browser, to find that the page doesn't exist - so,
3. I searched the MHDC website for any reference to NACHI. There aren't any.
4. And Nick's BBS post has disappeared... but the announcement is still at http://www.nachi.org/mohd2005approval.htm (actually links back to www.nachi.org)
Q: Why are non-members interested in NACHI?
A: Most are "ex" members. Ex-members who are trying to help the rest of you unfortunate rubes realize what kind of hollow shell of an organization you've bought into.

Missouri Housing Development Commission approves NACHI.
July 8th, 2005.
NACHI is pleased to announce that the Missouri Housing Development Commission has included NACHI as an "Approved Certifying Organization" in its American Dream Downpayment Initiative Program.
NACHI is being added to the form that must be completed for the lender. The form is actually provided by the lender on each house inspected. NACHI members may not charge an additional fee for filling out this simple form.
The Commission has also informed all the participating lenders that NACHI inspectors are now approved.

I know I shouldn't feed the troll, but really...who asked you to "save" us?
I didn't say anyone wanted to "save" you.
Is it acceptable for the owner of NACHI to post misleading information about NACHI's position as a "certifying organization" in Missouri or anywhere else, complete with dead or non-existant links?
Is it OK to simply make the BBS post disappear without explanation, as soon as when somebody else questions the validity of the statement or the link?
Is it OK to have a prospective member think "Wow! I should join NACHI. They're an official certifying organization in Missouri?"
If NACHI is the "member-driven" organization some so fondly describe it as, then why does www.nachi.org belong to "Consumer Advocacy Group?" Do you know who owns "Consumer Advocacy Group?
Of course, you probably think it's quite normal for the admin staff to be physically located on a mountain top in Colorado, while funneling mail through a clandestine drop in Pennsylvania.

I am a home inspector who benefits from his association with NACHI and am totally disinterested in the negative opinions of former members with a grudge.

jbushart - it’s good you are benefiting from this organization, but don’t you find it a bit strange that Gromicko is posting s#!t? Do you really want to belong to an organization whose leader tells lies 98% of the time?
As Gil said you must be either naive, irresponsible or accepting. Why not take 5 minutes to think about the s#!t that is fed to you instead of just reading it and accepting it? If you can't see through Gromicko's lies then you are nothing more than a lemming following the crowd.

For the record it seems another Canadian (jvezina) has falsified his location. He is from northern Ontario. Just a short time ago he was telling us how to behave.

Gil,
We have no control over dead links on websites that aren't ours. Our system tries to re-route dead links back to NACHI's homepage.
Many of our internet domains are owned by the group you mention who acts like a holding company for NACHI and leases the domains back to us for asset protection purposes. We've essentially made NACHI judgment proof so that we go on forever no matter what happens.

Are you trying to help? I for one do not want your help. I like many who ARE members just want you to go away.
Oh, and vezina... nice photo of your and gils date for Saturday night

You have to understand that Gil is a part time everything. He does nothing full time. Can’t keep his mind on anything very long and has to stick his nose in everywhere. Some what like a 3 year old, you know lots of go, but no staying power at all.
