Unless I am badly mistaken 210 is about how many RHI renewed with OAHI this year.
OAHI does not give the exact # any more .
I’m sorry Roy, what does OAHI have to do with this?
The EKG machine only displays renewal payments that were made on time. Our N. American membership bounces around between 8,000 and 10,000 members, mostly due to inspectors leaving NACHI and the profession. 35% of inspectors leave the industry altogether each year. Right now we have exactly 8,930 N. American members http://www.nachi.org/nachi-stats.htm
Well at least one Director of OAHI has trouble representing the true facts. Nothing like making yourself appear larger than you actually are eh!

Sorry, but those that did not pay on time would show up on a day to day basis, month to month, it would average out.
What you are saying is that last month you had 210 inspectors renew (on time), but next month you may have 2000?? Don’t think so.
Nice try though
I am a Canadian And I think you are a Canadian .
OAHI is the Largest Canadian Association so I was just giving a comparision. Well we are asking questions .
I wonder where you got the renewal of 210 from?
Two as you are not a member of NACHI why are you so interested in the number of members ?
Jason
Fwiw, thats pretty much the way OAHI tabulates the members. The numbers flucuate from week to week, from month to month. Of course with a questionable membership list such as OAHI’s who really knows what the numbers are. I just proved that at least one Director (Gerry Quackenbush) doesn’t even know and is purposely misrepresenting the facts on his website. Nice! Real Nice!
Alright, I will error in your favour.
Approx. 200 renewels per month and 200 new members, still only adding up to around 4800 members on a rotational basis… Which in itself is great for NACHI, just wondering why you have to embellish it?
One never really knows, do they…
Oh, come on, Ray. Picky, picky, picky. Are you a picky home inspector, too? A deal killer? Surely not! Surely not one of my Canadian friends! Tell me no!
I am known for being thorough and honest. I don’t like gimmicks, and anyone should be able to stand on their own merits, not those merits induced by cash offers.
Jason, very roughly, there are a little over 200 members a month renewing on time, a little over 200 members a month renewing late (not shown at all on the EKG machine) and a little over 200 new members a month joining http://www.nachi.org/memberstats.htm
I believe we are the only inspection association that lists every member by name for all to see. Others use ambiguous overlapping geographic searches to hide their weak numbers.
Also, if you really want to see who is actually joining… you can just go to the User List of the message board (NACHI requires members to log on to the message board www.nachi.org/membership.htm) and sort by join date. Each new user shows up as a NACHI member if they joined NACHI. http://www.nachi.org/forum/memberlist.php?&order=desc&sort=joindate&pp=30&page=1
Well, if you have 200 members a month that don’t even show up on your graph, then it is not much of a valuable tool, is it?
Like I said before, roughly 4500 members is great, by your own admission above there is only around 6000 members, yet your stats say there are 8600 members. Yet only last month you were touting that the 10,000 member mark was upon us and everyone should hurry up and join before you close the doors…
Something is skewed…
Just trying to do the math #-o :-k
The EKG tool was built for use by the Deadwood project so it is a “valuable tool” to them. Its initial purpose was to demonstrate for them the percentage of members who renew on or before their renewal date so that they could monitor their own success in trying to improve that percentage.
You are in correct again about my admission. I said that there are exactly 8,930 N. American members yesterday. Re-read slowly post #23.
Today there are EXACTLY 8,932 N. American members. http://www.nachi.org/nachi-stats.htm lists them instantly and automatically as they join, quit, or are removed from NACHI.
I believe we are the only inspection association that lists every member by name for all to see. Others use ambiguous overlapping geographic searches to hide their weak numbers.
Ummmmm… Ok
Any blind man can see there are many holes in your calculations, no matter how you spin it.
Let me know when you get to 9999, I might just relent and join to be the 10,000 member …
BTW, only members can see your stats page.
You said there was 200 +/- a month that don’t show up on the EKG graph, so add that to the roughly 400 +/- a month that renew or join and you get roughly 6000 members on a rotational basis. How do you account for the other 2900 ??
BTW, I really like you Nick from having met you a few times, but I just don’t understand your need to embellish when by all accounts NACHI is the biggest association (without the embellishment even).
