Good morning friends! I’m considering offering Homebinder as a part of my inspection package. Has anyone used this program before? Did it create the value you expected?
What’s a Homebinder?
(That should answer your question).
I remember that was being “pushed” a decade ago, some sort of digital binder software analogy, like keeping track of maintenance stuff.
Seemed pretty unimpressive back then…
Is this the program? How does it fit into a home inspectors world? How much does it cost?
Just offer quality inspections and you won’t need gimmicks.
Seems basically like Porch to me. Have home inspectors pay you to collect data for them, but spin it off as a great benefit to them and their clients, one which will no doubt cause their company to reach new levels of success!
I do not know about everyone else, but when I buy something for my home, the paperwork gets stuffed into a file folder. There is no way I will take the time to upload this information onto someone else’s server.
Now, if I was uber rich and had a luxury estate manager…then I might require something similar.
Read an article that says it is $49/month per inspector. Not overly expensive. However, I did not see any real value for my average customer, given that my electronic inspection report link stays online and accessible (sortable, searchable) in perpetuity. Or, my average computer-literate customer, that will just create an electronic folder of PDF files. Or, my average computer-illiterate customer (like Brian, lol), that will just create a paper folder.
I offered it to every client for about a year when I started, and hardly anyone actually used it.
Thank you Daniel! That’s exactly the feedback I was looking for. I want to add value but if customers won’t use it then it has none. Have a great day!
You’re welcome. I mean, it may have value as an attraction stand point, but when it comes down to it, not many people actually accepted it.
The dashboard tells you how many people download and use it, and it was very low.
I think most of us are lucky if they read the whole report let alone dill around with some online record keeping system.
All these companies keep trying to tell me that “millennials” this and “millennials” that. Truth of the matter is that most of any buyers just want to hear the worst thing in the inspection and move on.
