Mr Pope,
You are either genius/wizard/super-inspector or a liar. Anyone claims to do 3-4 inspections a day with an average of 55 pages per inspection report is either blowing smoke or an absolute super-inspector. Looking at any house closely requires 2 solid hours of work for anyone who knows the business, and accurately documenting those results cannot be done in less than an hour unless you are a wizard or into cutting corners. And putting out a 55 page report that acutally means something? come on!
Not to mention travel time, the difficulty of scheduling around client/ realtor schedules and actually lining up 3-4 home inspections a day in a down market.
Sounds like someone here is blowing smoke here.
Gee, I wonder who (" Sounds like someone here is blowing smoke here. ") You come into our home use a false name and make fun of our members.
You should be proud you are the only one I see with a red square
I guess you come to learn and see how much information is freely traded to all.
You jealousy is showing , and your spelling (acutally ) (actually ) is worse then mine … Cookie

Mr. Pope is top notch, and I am sure he is reporting the truth.
I have learned a few things in my years on this board and one of them is that you can trust Mr. Pope at his word.
Thanks Jeff.

Looks like some one else does not like me defending another home inspector.
Such a shame we have cowards on this BB who can say things and not show who they are.
I got another red Square

28 - 60 pages is about normal for me too. I have only had 1 that was close to 100 pages. But this month i have only done 2 inspections. I sent about 25 to other inspectors.
how much of that is fluff as opposed to substance? If i were a homebuyer, I’d be like “just break it down for me and let me know what needs to be fixed” Maybe it’s just me but a 50 page report (average home) seems excessive unless, of course, 30 pages of it is about nothing of interest. Not trying to be rude or condenscening, just trying to see what can possibly fill 60 pages of a home inspection report. Maybe your pictures are 8 1/2 X 11

How many pages are your reports. Or do you use check lists?
I use narrative reports. My reports average 16-18 pages. Maybe is also the difference in software. All my descriptive info (foundation, exterior, etc…) are at the top and the observations/findings take up the rest of the page.

I put my finding and my explanation all together with a picture so it is easy for them to read and follow

This month has been slow but still doing 3-5 a week + Mold Inspections and of course those trusty draw inspections.
This week I’m only at 3 so far.
Slowwww. But good time to catch up with marketing and office work.

Since last Friday I did 44 yes 44 Draw inspections, 3 home inspections and 2 mold inspections. Indy Mac Bank wanted Property Validations on all their construction loans and I was told today that there are about 5000 left to do. So far 2 draws are scheduled for tomorrow (1 at $75 and 1 at $50 ) and an IR moisture intrusion scan ($200 an hour).

20 inspection per week X 4 weeks = $22,000 per month. Times that by 6 months = $132,000.
If some of those jobs were more than $275 per job, then that $132,000 is too low. Not sure about your area, but $132,000 for 6 months of the year is GREAT!. I would be able to pay off my house in one to two years.
