That’s an interesting move…

Well if Igo can convince the California Association of Realtors that Igo is better than InterNACHI, I guess they can do anything.

Seems like a data grab.

From moving to home maintenance, iGo’s new capabilities will be powered by real information about their specific home.

I pushed for the deal and support it, BTW.

@gromicko Why is that?

No one has been able to crack the “Manage my home” thing. I think it makes a lot of sense for our industry to not only inspect, but actually manage all the country’s real estate including all the commercial properties. We’re built for it. iGo wants to see if they can get that going and I hope they do.

Disclosure: I’m iGo’s senior strategist.

@gromicko Interesting. Thanks for the clarification

Sears tried 30 years ago and since then, a lot of others have tried. Once I started succeeding (I land a property management contract on nearly every commercial inspection I do), I realized that it can be done. Porch is trying, but I’m not seeing the loyalty from the consumer to Porch. I’m hoping iGo cracks the code. It would be great for our industry, and InterNACHI is about 95% of the industry.

Excuse my ignorance. Are they not the competition?

Porch and iGo are basically competitors. Yes.

But we know who is the best

Igo presents itself as a competitor to InterNACHI with their own classes and certifications.

Almost everyone in the industry likes to offer their own classes and certifications. But those courses aren’t accredited. They are kind of like elective courses with certificates of completion, not certification.

It clearly says iGO Certified.

Use this certificate and the iGo Certified logo

iGo Academy offers classes online only. This school offers training in 2 qualifications, with the most reviewed qualifications being Home Inspector Certification

IGo certainly seems to think they offer a certification.

Anyone can sell anything. But they don’t get you into InterNACHI, aren’t accepted by any state for pre-licensing, don’t count as actual college credits, and aren’t accredited courses.

Any written info anywhere on the net about Sears attempt at that? I’m curious to know what they tried and how they attempted to execute this

Did you notice most inspection company inspectors are elite inspectors which the founder of elite is heading up the Igor certs. Must be a democrat dominant thing common in California, do I smell scam? YES

Being in the industry over 25 years I see the value for the industry to have someone that wants a consumer driven experience that also benefits the home inspection company that performs the inspection. HomeBinder has a 10 year record and is consumer driven, Repair Pricer is a great value to the client and agent add into a powerful entity that wants to see the industry as a whole succeed it’s a game changer! InterNACHI’s value is immeasurable and many on our team have done the iGo academy and then become CPI’s through InterNACHI. It’s a great blend of education
