When you give money to the poor, they spend it all back into the productive economy. I’d rather give it to them than to waste it by giving it to bureaucrats.

An eye-popping 45 million Americans are receiving EBT and a good portion of them are overweight and using food stamps to buy unhealthy food, which is costing us enormously with labor productivity and the price of healthcare. We need to dramatically overhaul the entire program to ensure the recipients are indeed poor and that the food stamps can only be used on healthy food items.

If it makes you feel better, much of the welfare is aimed at the Household Head’s children, who may be Americans.
Most of them are probably voting too.
Undocumented immigrants and children under 18 are not allowed to vote.
Neither are dead people or blank ballots, but when has that ever deterred Dems from counting their “votes”?

The hard part is determining what is “unhealthy food.” Of course there are some easy things, like glazed donuts and sugary sodas. But there is a lot of gray area in many areas like frozen foods, breads, cereals, and even snack chips and crackers. Some states are starting to define what is junk food, for purposes of EBT use. Truly healthy food is generally more expensive.
