Call me lazy but when I return to the previously viewed page, the page is not memory set & always reverts to the top.
Now I have to scroll all the way down again. 
You have to be smarter than what you are working with…
Not a lot of help but have you used the “post counter/date” slider on the right side of posts? It will get you to the last post quicker than scrolling maybe. Just left click, hold and slide it up or down.
I guess the forum genie or bogey man heard me!
It now reverts back to the exact place when I left it -

You can always right click and open a new tab…hope this helps.
