Improper cuts

No war with us Will. They keep cutting, we keep working. We just fit them in between…putting in the stairs, building round walls for circular stairs, round floor openings ( my design of a teardrop opening was quite popular), boxing in all the heating pipes and ductwork and a plethora of things to be done that fall in the category of flink-dinking.

Cuts in the top and bottom flanges of wood I-Joists are almost never allowed. Cuts in the webs are allowed, but only where the manufacturer allows them Typically in the center third of the joist you may gave one hole or duct.
