Inspection for Pigeon Poop

Hello-I need an inspector in Southern California who can remove a kitchen vent, take some residue and send it to a lab for testing. It could result in testimony at trial. The matter is in litigation, and the client contracted cryptococal meningitis from inhaling pigeon poop, we believe from the vent above his kitchen stove in his apaprtment. Do any of you have any recommendations for me, or do any of you do this sort of inspection? I would be so grateful for any assistance.

I forgot to leave contact information. Susan Carter, Grace Lea Chang, APC, (626) 792-8808, scarter@graceleachang.com

My opinion is a home inspector is not a trained/licensed specialist for stuff like that.
I can see the defense filing to declare the inspector is just a “handyman-witness” that holds no weight, no better than anyone that removed the vent.
Perhaps you should consider finding someone, an expert, who will be respected in a court, like an Industrial Hygienist.
Then there would be an EPA Certified Lab sample collection “chain of custody” for the "poop"and other technical matters.
Good luck! :cowboy_hat_face:

That is exactly what Nick Gromiko said! You folks are all on the same wavelength, and you were both absolutely correct. Thank you for your response. It lets me know I’m on the right track now.
