We are located in R2 and service Volusia and Seminole Counties for Wind Mitigations. Most inspectors here are already at 150.00 for Wind Mitigations. What is the rate for the program?

Its 85$ per wind mit….
Its crazy.

That is crazy; the State of Florida paid $75.00 in 2003-5. We charged $100 in 2010 and $125 in 2012 and have been at $150 since 2015. We used to get people who said State Farm said they should not pay more than $75 for a Wind Mitigation in 2011. We were already at $100 then, and it took years to get them over the $100 mark. Now we get referrals from State Farm, Farmers Insurance, and several brokerage firms in our area for $150.

Same here.

I just submitted all my into to join this program. Send me some referrals! 10 a day at a $100 sounds good to me :sunglasses:
Been doing these since 2006.

Hey Nick,

I’m part of the MSFH program, definitely getting a lot of assignments but payout to inspectors is slow! Just saying not quite immediate. But I’ve been told it will get quicker. But so far payout is a small fraction of inspections performed.

Merry Christmas.

I just received a call from Beryl wanting to hire me @ $85 per wind mit. I think I’ll pass…

Hi I have my Internachi wind mitigation certification and have my first one next week. My client asked me how long tell I submit my report to the client so before I respond back my understanding is that if insurance ordered it wouldn’t I be required to send the completed wind mitigation form directly to the clients insurance company and the client then requests from the insurance company a copy?
Also Florida insurers inspections down in Deerfield beech says that you include your Internachi wind mitigation certification certificate with the completed wind mitigation form so that insurance verifies that you as the inspector are ligite. I have no problem doing that wondered if you did it ?
Thanks for any feed back on this

I have insurance companies that order 4 Points and Wind Mit’s for clients all the time - some even pay for them - but I always give the client a copy. As far as the License, I don’t always attach mine, but I’ve been asked for it on occasion.

Can you tell me if these qualify as clips the back side of trus had 1nail and it wrapped over and the other side had 3 nails.would this be considered a clip? This house was built in 1979 and the shingles were last replaced in 2003.please see attached picture for feed back .trying to determine no clip for a report
Thanks

That would be considered a strap, if they are all like that. If some do not wrap over, but still have 3 nails, it would be considered a clip.

And you’ll need better photos of the front side of the roof/wall connector.

Hey thanks It was my first live wind mit. I had it correct, your opinion and speedy reply are very much appreciated. Iam learning every day and this is the place to ask or confirm any concerns. Iam still learning how to use this forum.

The first month of inspections for the My Safe Home Inspection program in Florida is in the books. It was filled with tons of teamwork and collaboration by all parties involved. Inspectors helping inspectors and Wind Certification Entities coming together as a team for a common goal to help all Floridian’s.
Just some of the milestones we hit:

  • Performed 1396 inspections in December alone!

  • Paid out $139600.00 to InterNACHI inspectors who performed these inspections!

  • InterNACHI developed a 1802 Form (Wind Mitigation Form) that can be used by MSFH inspectors that is not only easy to use and helps eliminate errors, but it will also eventually be released to all InterNACHI members to be used on their retail inspections as a benefit of membership!

  • InterNACHI developed a specialized scheduling portal for these inspections and continues to enhance it’s capabilities for inspectors every day!

TRULY, InterNACHI works all day every day to give home inspectors the opportunity to grow their business with not only the tools and support needed, but seeking out and winning contracts such as the MSFH contract just so their members have more inspections to do!

***Inspectors wishing to participate are encouraged to visit the portal and upload the requested documentation. Qualified Inspectors are onboarded in a first come, first serve order and patience is requested as there is tremendous interest and the need varies based on the volume from the program.

Congratulations Michelle, I know the kind of hours you’ve been putting in! Speaking for DMI, it’s been a pleasure working with all of you at NACHI.
