Correct. I don’t see any mention of InterNACHI in there. Do you?
Anyway, it’s confusing to layman because the two terms sound similar. They are very different though. A legal partnership generally refers to an entity. A strategic partnership generally refers to an agreement.
Again, they sound similar but an entity and an agreement are completely different.
So going to chime in here. I happen to own a WIN Home Inspection Franchise. All Franchisee’s are “Strategic Partners”. We do not own anything but our own franchise but do benefit from one another in many ways. I have not read anything here that causes me to believe that if WIN, Pillar to Post, House Masters or any other franchise approach InterNACHI they would be turned away. If I am incorrect in that impression Nick please correct me. There are new members here that are looking to make a career decision and one of them may be independent vs franchise. Both have their positives and negatives. If it is truly a “Strategic” partnership I personally see no problem. A franchise owner should not be any bigger threat to an independent than another independent operator. JMHO.
WIN is another very good group. I am speaking at the WIN annual convention next month.
Hey that’s what you get from a franchise… LOL
Good catch.
Jim
Don’t water down the brand.
Ahahahahahahaha
There is a Brickkicker franchise running just a few miles from my base of operations so we compete for the same inspections. I feel like all us members can say we are “backed by InterNACHI” as they now do on their website, but it does seem they just gained a significant marketing advantage in the real estate offices where we both dance since they now say “The BrickKicker is a *partner *of InterNACHI”.
I’m not complaining since I know InterNACHI needs to grow and open new relationships to stay healthy. But I think it’s going to sting just a little when I see that first brochure that says The Only Inspector in Washington that is an InterNACHI Partner.
Doug, you are correct, and unfortunately when an organization like Nachi makes such a partnership with another home inspector, it Harms Its members, and that was supposed to be a COE violation, not to mention just plain wrong… go figure.
You need to beef up your marketing to inform your clients that a franchise means nothing more than someone bought into a name, and that the bottom line is that the inspection is only as good as the inspectors that perform it and a name means absolutely nothing. In fact a franchise owner may not even be as good as a non franchise as the non franchise company built his biz on its own merit and not just buy buying a name.
Jim
Hello InterNACHI Friends,
The BrickKicker has been operating a Home Inspection business since 1987. We have performed 10’s of thousands of inspections. In 1995 we began Franchising. We are a small group - but very dedicated to our industry.
Many The BrickKickers are members of InterNACHI. While, it is not mandatory, it is certainly encouraged. We believe InterNACHI provides the BEST training products available to our industry. So much so we discuss this in our Federal Disclosure Documents (FDD). We also go so far as provide certain financial considerations to individuals who have taken the InterNACHI courses prior to becoming a The BrickKicker or convert their existing businesses to a BrickKicker operation.
We have not traded any financial favors. We only want to build upon our brand with Inspectors who wish to be at the top of their field. We feel by endorsing InterNACHI and encouraging our Franchises to join we can maintain the highest quality of inspector and inspections possible. We felt by spreading this message throughout the InterNACHI inspection community we can all carry the banner of success.
I agree.
There is a Brickkicker franchise not far from me.
Nick and Rob can say no money is changing hands, but it still feels like a slap in face to that a competitor is getting preferential treatment over me given I pay my dues just the same as anyone else.
And it’s still not been answered how this helps InterNACHI or it’s members in any single way. The only one that benefits from this is the vendor.
BrickKicker provides a discount to InterNACHI members who want a BrickKicker franchise.
The discount on a BrickKicker franchise is available to you too.
Ian, I am not sure why anyone would want a franchise inspection outfit?? I let my clients and argents know why that is not as good as a non franchise company and why in my opinion. Some of these brickkickert guys are not even Nachi members ? man that’s even more odd that Nick is promoting them, heck they might even be some of those “Expert” inspectors …LOL
It’s also very odd that Nick would bite the hand that feeds him, as a franchise makes up very little of the industry while the non franchise companies are the majority and most likely always will be.
Jim
So, in other words, NOTHING.
This does NOTHING to benefit existing members.
It might help new members, it helps the vendor, but it has ZERO benefit for existing due paying InterNACHI members
New members are members.
New members need software, correct? Should I not cut a deal so that they save money on software?
Every member has different wants and needs, at different times.
Another example: Some inspectors drive Chevy, but I still did a deal with Ford that recently saved another member $7K: https://www.nachi.org/forum/f32/international-association-certified-home-inspectors-member-saves-7-000-00-ford-using-his-international-association-certified-home-inspectors-discount-117665/#post1613113
Some members want to buy a vehicle, and so the Ford deal saves them money.
Some members want to buy a franchise, and so the BrickKicker deal saves them money.
Inspectors who offer radon also make up very little of the industry while non-radon inspection companies are the majority and most likely always be.
Yet, we provide inspectors who offer radon testing deals on radon equipment and radon education.
Jim, you test for radon, don’t you?
That’s not a teaming up. To say an organization is teaming up with another implies there are mutual benefits between the two organizations that benefits both.
Nor does the Ford deals equate with this because any inspector at any time may need to purchase a new vehicle, no matter how established they are. Even inspectors years into their business may wish to switch software. No one who’s established to going to throw it all away to start over with a franchise.
This doesn’t benefit InterNACHI members in the same way, yet this franchise gets to advertise they are partners with InterNACHI, implying they have preferable status over the majority of InterNACHI members who are not Brickker franchise members.
I don’t really give a hoot if they want to sell all InterNACHI members franchises for a fraction of what they normal charge. They can offer all the discounts they want.
But to say this is a “teaming up” is a slap in the face to rest of the due paying members.
That’s another stupid comment with zero relevance to the topic at hand. The Nachi inspectors that offer radon or those that don’t Do Not get to say they are Partners with Nachi like the brickkickers do, and even brickkickers that are Not even Nachi members. That’s some reticula’s nonrsense.
Oh and Yes, I sure do Radon testing and Mold as well, and a TON of it. OH and play a big part in changing of the radon regulations as well.
Jim
“being established” is not an InterNACHI membership requirement. An InterNACHI member who joined an hour ago is a member.
An InterNACHI member who joined an hour ago is a due-paying member.
ISN is for “established inspectors.” InterNACHI teamed up with ISN: Membership Benefits and Competitive Advantages - InterNACHI® Should newer inspectors complain that InterNACHI teaming up with ISN is a “slap in the face” to newer, due-paying members?
Ian, welcome to Nicks dance demonstration. It’s nothing but anendless loop of useless dribble.
Just remember when you encounter anyone (clients, agents whomever) if thisteamed up garbage arises just who are the players. Remind them that thesame person who is doing the “teaming up” is doing so with non Nachiinspectors thus giving the false impression to the public that this franchise isactually some type of partner or a team of Nachi when in fact some of thefranchise is not even affiliated with Nachi, thus making it all just anothersmoke and mirror charade to trick people.
Not to mention giving some Non Nachi Inspectors some sort of perceived “Edge” over actual Nachi Inspectors, thus potentially Harming real Nachi Members and damaging their businesses.
Also lets not for get to let your people know this same teamed up thing isalso being done by the same person that promotes vendors that requireinspectors to release their clients private information in order to give theirclients a sack full of widgets, some of which have been called completelyuseless by this same teamed up maker.
Once you educate your clients, agents, the public, media etc… The playing field will notonly become more even, it should begin to tip your way.
Remember their are 2 sides to every coin and the Truth will always prevail.
Oh and 1 more thing, Resistance to the truth is Futile…LOL
