Greetings. I have had an idea for simple little product that I have wanted to manufacture and distribute for years. My little invention if you will. I have just never gotten around to getting past the idea stage. Now that I have a little time on my hands, I want to make my idea a reality. Has anyone ever done anything like this and if so, where did you start? I need help on patents, manufacturing, marketing, etc… Any help is appreciated.

A personal Journal on the item is very important...from conception of your idea to sketches, trials and improvements. Write everything down from the start to finish. You never know when it will come in handy when someone comes around and challenges your idea saying they had it first.

The U.S. Patent Office will give you all the information you will need regarding your quest. Including whether or not your idead has patents or patents pending.
