Russell item number is 4.1 (Walls) on my template using my ipad only 26 comments are transferring, iphone all 32 comments are transferring. Also Russell have way through a report program starts to slow down would this be caused by picture size and if so, do you know how to re-size pictures taken with an ipad.

Started an inspection report today on my Ipad, did the exterior and half way completed the roof when the app crashed and the report had vanished. Tried to open the report up again and it was gone just like it was never there. This is something that deffinately needs to get corrected.

Ouch. I am sorry Shawn. Your last post Sean looked at your template and all your comments were there (when he used the iPhone and IPad mini) he said that it may be ipad specific and he was going to test on that. He is at a trade show in Kentucky and I am in Wisconsin. I will forward this to him. We haven’t had any reported crashes that I am aware of lately except yours. I am sorry as I know the frustration if this was to happen to me. Let me send this to him. Meanwhile if you don’t use an ipad mini or iPhone, hold off until I get his response.

Thanks Russell I know it is still in trial, I have been using my iPad and also taking pictures with the camera that way if something like this does happen I still have pics to complete report. It is duplicating the work but it’s the best way to find problems is to use it in the field and if it does work it saves a lot of time finishing the report in the office

Russell when trying an apartment report (with duplicated sections) on the new app can only get about 1/4 completed. After entering in smoke detector comment every other section opened to enter comment had smoke detector comment in it, then the app crashes and does not let you continue. When back at the office partially finished report uploads to cloud, but unable to download onto PC.

Ok. In HG we have a comment ability to “automatically include comment on report start” If your example has the feature set then that would be the reason for the comment duplicating as well.

If you typed a comment in a section and duplicate that section that comment should not appear in the duplicated section.

Which one is it?

2nd part of your crash are you using the iphone, ipad mini or the ipad? Also when you open the app again do you send the error report off to us?

When I duplicated the units, so unit#1 and unit#2 in unit#1 in the electrical section I inserted an auto comment about smoke alarm and had taken a picture after that every section I went into had the comment about the smoke alarm.
2nd part did not allow me to send crash error message, just crashed and had to re-start app, every time it got slower and crashed more often so I Just gave up
Using iPad

We can’t make that unintended comment happen (without the automatically include comment on report star feature) but will try some more.

The crash we think is “possibly” because your ipad is near full of memory. It doesn’t have to be full just near full. Can you check that and see. No one has reported a crash in some time and we know it is being used by many.

Russell I checked my memory and there is plenty I pad was bought about 6months ago and basically only has the home gauge app on, just wondering if anyone else is using iPad or are they using iPad mini’s? Just did another report this morning app crashed again I can see report when try to open but will not open app just keeps crashing.

When I press open report in main screen, sometimes it takes approx. 10min for the report to show up, if it shows up at all, should it take this long?

Russell can you check with your geeks if the app works with the new iPad Air, that’s what I have and it seems like I am the only one having problems

I have passed it to the nerds. There is another update already sent to the iTunes store whenever they decide to make available. Be looking for it has a few crash fixes in there and we think its our last known crashes for ios.

The iTunes store just now released the latest ios version for the HomeGauge Companion. All known crashes are fixed and it’s important to report any new crashes or bugs after you get the update.

New update tested today. Crashed about every 30 minutes auto saved most times, had to restart a few times.

Which device were you using? Did you send the crash message when it restarted?

Also check your memory in the device. If it is near full and it doesn’t have to be full just near full, then your device will need some memory freed up. Since this last update, so far yours is the only one reported as crashing so it may be the memory in your device. If not, then the send crash report message is important for us.

I hit the send button. I have the iPhone 6 plus.

Thought I would try the Iphone App today on an inspection as I wasn’t hearing anything bad about last update, well I was wrong.
The app is unusable, everyone has to try this out and submit info to Russell as he thinks its working good.
Problems:

  1. Only able to take 5pictures and app totally crashed, unable to re-open report every time click on client app crashes.
  2. When you go to open report it takes anywhere between 5-10min for reports to show up (had 4 reports uploaded)
  3. Sent crash notification everytime
  4. Do not have memory problem (lots of memory)
  5. Using ipad mini 3 with 64GB

I wonder if you have something else going on with your iPad mini.
We also have a iPad mini and reading 4 reports takes 1 second.

Did you upgrade to iOS8?
Maybe try some of the hints listed on this page

Is anyone else seeing this slowness?
