Lock ness monster still alive

Was just wondering how many inspectors still run into the old lead drum traps I still see quite a few but are slowing disappearing

Second Pic the owner saw me taking pic’s and ask what was wrong with this I just grinned and said southern Engineering. It was the water line to an exterior faucet.

See 'em here.

Just yesterday at one toilet. Didn’t take a pic of it found something a little more important at the other bathroom and drainline. Good thing the water was off.

That would be reasonable to call that leak:cool:

Barry, that looks like cast bell&spigot piping, but what is the one above it?

Is that reference to lead drain waste pipe?

Is that white stuff snow???

Barry I find the good things also had a rip snorter today

More good thing same house the washing machine drain and water supply lines in the garage passing about 6 inches off of the floor in front of an exterior door. Connected to the main in the crawl space with no P-trap installed guess someone was practicing for the low hurdles. This is why I LUV this job every home amazes me.

Linus,

Limestone rocks is what you’re seeing, this area south of Dallas is renowned for this, caleche clay soils, and Cedar Hill (s).

Those stones in the crawl make it almost not worth doing them but this one was for the bride’s employer, pro-bono.

None of the other inspectors they contacted wanted to do the work.

I enjoy trying to give a little back every now and then and it doesn’t cost a thing come tax time.

Charley,

Nice finds!

I once had an insurance adjuster who was the father of the seller tell me that “there is nothing wrong with corrosion, it helps prevent leaks”. The item went on the report. I forgot to let him know that in my previous life I was the supervisor for a corrosion control shop, and actualy taught advanced corrosion theory.
