Long crack

hello


anybody know wht this long crack could be that goes all the way from one end to the other end. a friend said it was a layer of cement poured on over another layer . can you explain what this is and why?

It’s a cold-joint.


The lower section of concrete had hardened prior to placement of the upper portion.

Its very common, but its also poor workmanship. Not a major issue for residential foundations.
