Congratulation on passing the NHIE, Ray!
Ray, I think you had a good handle on your prep for the test. Id did the same with the practice tests, if I scored low in an area, I studied that area. Maryland requires a Classroom course. I took the AHIT course at a community college and thought it was about as good as it could be for cramming it into 6 days of nonstop lecture and quizzes. I see a lot of similarities between AHITs study material and the InterNACHI courses. It’s easier to ask questions in a classroom but it’s easier to take the InterNACHI courses online because you can stop and digest and go back over things. There is no time for that in the classroom. It was taught by a seasoned inspector. The students who didn’t pass the class were the ones without a basic knowledge of construction terms. They were lost. Shingle, shim, shake all took the same when you don’t know the difference. I’m glad I took it in a classroom and not online so I could pick the instructor’s brain. We also did two inspections as a class.
