NACHI developing their own commercial course!

David,

You know, based on the CWS content, that I’ve built the Commercial Inspection Course in the same manner. It’s chocked full of valuable information.

I have analyzed the process of performing a Commercial Inspection, and applied it to the ASTM standard. I have created the course in a logical manner, for the everyman to understand and apply. The class it interactive, and thought provoking.

I’d love to come back to Wisconsin. Q4 sounds good to me.

Cool I sent you an email. We would need to know what you need and how this will come off so we can be sure we are on the same page with respect to all the details. Do you think it should be a FR, SA, SU. Weekend before of after Turkey Day weekend might be good.

Our peeps loved you when you were here for the “Well Sampler Course” I’m confident that this one will be an even greater opportunity.

Joe,

I’m still waiting for you in Massachusetts. You’re on the list of approved educators.

What’s the hold up?

David,

It’s just a timing thing. Call me, as I plan to do both Conn and Mass in the next 60-90 days

Hi Joe!
Nick & Tom Rausch have promised me that New Hampshire is #1 on the list for the Commercial Course.

Any news as to when this is going to happen?

Joe,

I just left a voicemail with your son’s phone.

I don’t have your current phone number. My cell number is 978-423-2313.

Frank,

I say we all get together between Connecticut and New Hampshire and take on this Commercial course all at once.

I am in Connecticut, but would be willing to travel to MA or NH to take this course. I’ve already taken Carson Dunlop’s course, but feel this would be a great way to augment my knowledge.

David,
I have been speaking to Joe Farsetta for the last 30-min. about this course. As soon-as the details are “ironed out” he will make an announcement.

Manchester NH. has a great facility for this type of seminar and it is “centrally located”. Joe has already presented one course for us already at this facility so it looks like this is going to be the location for the Commercial Course.

What about the Connecticut guys that Joe had initially intended on training? I see that Thomas is willing to attend the NH course, but that long drive will not attract too many Connecticut guys.

Dave,
Sorry … but I can’t speak for Joe or for the “Connecticut guys” who may or may not want to come to New Hampshire.

Dave, as Frank knows I attended the ITA commercial class in CT. in 2005 and it was well worth the travel.

My brother Alan and I have signed up for the course in Manchester as Frank will tell you it is well worth attending, I can’t wait.

We just did an inspection on a medical building and I was glad to have the training and construction background to help me.

This is not a new feild but one that is groing and will help you diversify your inspection business.

PS when I went to CT the course cost me $699, plus 3 nights in a hotel and the usual expenses, gas, food ETC.
It was still worth every penny.

We can do it in 2 states

Along the Northeast coast is really no problem, so no one get upset. If there is a genuine interest, I’ll put it on in multiple locations

It is doubtful, however, that I will have the time to get it approved in either Mass or Ct

Since this deals with commersial inspections, I’m not sure if it would fly, anyway.

Joe, If this particular course is not approved, you can count me OUT, then.

Good Luck on getting attendees from Massachusetts.

David,

I do not believe the ITA course is approved, either. If it is, then I will take the Mass Board’s invitation to submit the next course and get this one approved. The reason I say this is because of the topic covered, which is Commercial Inspections. Is a license required in Mass to perform a commercial inspection?

I am never ceased to be amazed at what licensing does to the mentality and priorities of the licensee.

“If my state does not give me credit for it, I do not want to know it.”

It is highly unlikely that a commercial inspection course will be recognized for CEUs by a state that licenses residential inspectors. Does that mean that licensed residential home inspectors do not want to make the addtional money in an area…not controlled by their state…just because it does not count for CEUs?

This is amazing.

Knock it off James. It is a fact of life in some places and their dealing with it. Let this topic be. There are plenty of places to have that discussion and this isn’t one of them. It is not secret that you are opposed to licensing in any form. Good for you.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

Joe,

I checked on this two months ago (with the Mass. HI Board) when ITA was about to hold a Commercial course in NH. If you look here, it states that the ITA Commercial course is good towards 24 CE credits but the info is actually incorrect (according to the State HI board). I spoke with the Boasrd of HI’s and they tell me that this Commercial course is only approved for 6 hours because they want to see the Massachusetts Home Inspectors educational credits split up into varied courses over a two year period. They don’t want to see a licensee obtain their required CE credits through one (1) course. They simply want it split up amoungst different subjects.

So, if ITA Commercial course is approved by the State of Massachusetts, I don’t see why you can’t submit your Commercial course for approval. Last time you and I met, the HI board mentioned that you can do everything by snail mail or email fron here on in.

Please give it a shot and let me know what I can do to assist.

That’s simply a personal choice.

I don’t have time to play games and sign up for courses that aren’t approved by the State of Massachusetts. I realize it’s a learning experience to participate in courses in order to further my edumacation, but I have a life. I’m either busy with work, my children, my wife or tending to the house. I don’t even have time to fit approved courses into my schedule at times.

Other licensees may will willing to take on unapproved courses, but that’s not big on my list right now.

The Pocono Northeast PA Chapterattracts inspectors from NY,NJ and PA. We would love to have the opportunity to host this course for our chapter.
