Congrats to Roberta on her new position. Roberta has been an excellent person to work with, in dealing with my own website and the NACHI chapter website.

Thanks, Ken. It has been a pleasure working with you as well.

I'm excited about all of the new programs I'll be able to work on for NACHI members now that I'm on staff. I will be announcing these as they become available over the coming weeks. I'll be doing a regular column in Inspector Quarterly on Search Engine Optimization and Web Site Marketing - submit your questions now for inclusion in the next publication.

I am also available upon request to speak on Search Engine Optimization and Web Site Marketing at NACHI chapter meetings in the US and Canada. To request me, simply drop me an email to rdulay@co.nachi.org or call the offices in Colorado.

This is great news, because I have been trying to get ahold of Roberta for about 2 months and now I can find her at NACHI…

Thank you, MarkTimpani

Mark, you always could find me at NACHI - that’s been on the boards for months now that Nick has been kind enough to provide me with office space and I’ve been working at the NACHI offices 5 days a week. To my knowledge, I don’t have any open voicemails or emails from you to respond to, so if you need something, please drop me a note or give me a call at the office on Monday.

Regards,

Roberta

Hi Mark,

Because Search Engine Optimization takes alot of time, I limit the number of paid SEO clients that I will take on at any given time, since I have obligations to NACHI and to my web site hosting clients as well. I am, however, still providing FREE search engine site analysis and submission to all NACHI members, and have also started automatically resubmitting sites every 8-10 weeks since that's recommended so that the search engines re-index your site for new content and helps you to maintain/improve your site's position.

There are several things that you can do to improve your site's ranking, with or without the assistance of an SEO consultant:
- Review your site's title and metatags to ensure you've adequately covered your location and home inspection keywords
- Make sure your keywords are also in your content - embedding extra keywords in your image "alt" tag is a good way to sprinkle additional keywords in your site without sounding like a "rain man"
- Check out the free content that NACHI provides for members to use on their sites. A deeper, multi-page web site will help your relevance.
- Link, link and link!!! Link with other home inspectors, link with realtors in your area, add your site to as many directories and link sites you can find. Be a little picky about who you're reciprocating links with (the company you keep is important as well), and be sure to make your link text count (your link title should be "Arizona Home Inspection" or "Tucson Home Inspection" rather than your company name).

I often post additional search engine tips in the forums, and have also started a column called "Ask Betty" on search engine optimization which will debut in the next issue of Inspector's Quarterly. To submit your questions for the column, email them to askbetty@gmail.com.

Best of luck with your web site!

Regards,

Roberta[/list]
