Good deal on getting our name connected with cancer

Lets get fire up about radon - my background includes this subject

Radon kills

The donation and the horse race will help but lets not stop there

That mean that we are just after some PR

We can really make a difference by getting a good relationship between the TRUE radon professionals and NACHI (no room for the unqualified opportunists here - this is a big boy game - It kills)

Lot of unqualified people out there trying to make a buck in this area
Lets expose them and do a better job -- remember it saves lives (I lived in OHIO for 30 plus years and was a USN SS Reactor operator - (fun when you are young)

The scam artists need to be taken out of the industry

Training, Inspection, Certification, More training is life or you die

I know we have information on our site but getting a little more proactive in this area will save lives

This subject runs my pressure up a little

If I can help my hand is up

Just my thoughts

Richard Bennett

PS Would like to know if NACHI has ever gotten this subject up on the board before -- If not - why not??

Sorry not a good question

I have been approached by the National Radon Safety Board and asked if NACHI would like to partner with them. I said yes. Details are being worked out, including some discount structures for membership and training for NACHI members.

RTCA (Radon Testing Corp of America) is planning to attend next year's NACHI convention, and I have asked them if they would be interested in teaching a Radon course. They are most interested...

Nancy Bredhoff, who heads RTCA is also the current President of the NRSB.

We have some high-level contacts, that's for sure...

Nancy was at our recent National Convention. She is the best. Before that, she and I met once long ago (maybe 1989) at a bankruptcy auction when she and I were competing bidders on a huge radon laboratory being broken up and sold off.

NACHI has a radon section of this message board at http://www.nachi.org/bbsystem/viewforum.php?f=26

We have a couple popular articles about radon at:
http://www.nachi.org/dear_nachi3.htm (radon and profits) and http://www.nachi.org/cage.htm (how to build a tamper resistant cage).

Also, I had a physicist build me an electret recharger if anyone wants to use it.

I also own my own radon chamber which members can use for non-commercial purposes.

And Radalink offers some kind of NACHI member deal but I can't remember what it is.

Joe,

Good job.

FYI,
Last I heard they are not considered a FL Radon business, which does not help many of us in FL. Can you use your talkings with them to push for the FL business as NACHI has a reported 700 members in FL?

Thanks
