It seems that hosting this board and allowing anyone to post on it is one of the things NACHI does best, and some of us spend far too much time either posting to or reading what is here. As we all know, quite a bit of it is nonsense or otherwise useless information (i.e. all those personal spats and retorts, the entire Canadian section, etc.).
How can we make this more positive and productive?
I am proposing a voluntary fee for posting here. Lets say a penny a post. Everybody who posts here should assess themselves 1 cent for every time they hit the submit button, and send that money directly to the non-profit NACHI foundation.
Lets all try this, starting in September for one month as a test drive. I know, our Canadian posters are getting off cheap because of favorable exchange rates, and we risk the possibility of bankrupting Misters Allen and McMahon, but I think it is worth a try.

Good idea about the 1 cent per post, but I have to agree with Nick. No one forces anyone to read the topics. Curosity seems to get the better of some, and when their curosity reveals something they don’t like well…
Seems some people are paranoid, and whenever they feel they are being discussed in a post, they feel compelled to reply. I guess it could be called post envy.
Thanks Nick!

This has nothing to do with the content. I just think this will be a good way to piggyback a good deed (supporting the foundation) onto what NACHI does best (maintaining this board). Everybody should just keep a bucket next to their computers and toss a penny into it every time they post. Almost painless, and gets rid of those pesky pennies.
At the end of the month everybody sends their pennies to the foundation, let Gary Johnson figure out what to do with them during his convalescence.
At the rate this board is getting used, this could bring in about a C-note per month to the foundation.

What say you all?
Raymond:
Your comments are excellent, and have saved me from saying the same, but it just won't work because this board is always unmoderated.
