SAFETY CONCERN: Additional electrical outlets were installed in the garage after initial construction. These outlets are attached to the GFCI device to the right of the entryway into the house by drilling a hole through the electrical cover and placing Romex on the exterior of the wall. This is not an acceptable application for this type of wiring and is a shock hazard. All electrical outlets attached on this circuit do not have proper grounding nor do they have proper GFCI protection as required. The wiring was attached to the studs with a staple gun. Numerous staples are puncturing the wire. There is excessive impedance on the neutral conductor and there is excessive voltage between the neutral and ground conductors. This is an extreme safety concern and care should be exercised when removing this circuit. (see photograph 3574, 3575, 3579, 3580)
All of the above electrical circuits which were added in the garage should be removed and the GFCI cover replaced by a licensed electrician.
The GFCI did work, but the other 3 did not have grounding and were not GFCI protected.
I didn't touch anything except my tester!
I shut down the circuit. The house is vacant.
I did not include the recorded notes I made at the time of inspection!
