I’ve been approached by several networking groups for membership, including BNI. I’m interested in hearing about other inspectors experiences. Has it been worth the investment of time and money? Thanks
IEB Coaching I joined. seems good, but you have to put into it to get anything out of it. (just like life
BNI, not worth the cost and it’s more of a pyramid scheme then a networking group. They require you to bring in referrals every week and report on them. You also report all monies any referral has made to you. You can go to a meeting for free and you will see what I’m talking about.
Stick with local groups, ones with real estate agents helps a lot. But stay clear of any that already have an inspector.
The BNI group in my area is very strict on attendance. I was asked to join (but didn’t) when they asked the last home inspector to leave due to poor attendance.
Also, ditto what William said.
Some BNI groups are great and home inspectors do well in them. It is a comitment and you must attend the meetings. Members benifit from each other with referrals and you need to be able to provide the group with refferals. In my area the BNI groups range around $300 to $400 a year to belong. Yes, it ia a franchise orginization and each BNI groups is owned by a person.
