Could someone please confirm if the neutral and ground wires are connected together in this main panel? I want to avoid calling an electrician if it’s unnecessary.
Is that not a remote distribution panel?
Where is the service disconnect? Do you have a picture of that panel?
Larry is right. That is a sub panel with a 4 wire feed to it. The service (main) panel is somewhere upstream of that one. The bonding screw would have been next the neutral lug.
Hard to be sure without being there, but, I think there is another main disconnect somewhere.
Both of the panels you’ve shown are subs. Where would the feeders for the second have come from the panel in the first pictures? The service panel is still somewhere else.
Hi John, it looks like this top panel picture… is down steam from this bottom panel picture. Is that correct? Was there a service disconnect outside or elsewhere?
If that is the main disconnect, then from what I can see, the neutral bus is not bonded to the panel, so you’re correct, it should be written up as such.
But they both sure look like subs.
Ok, thank you for all your help!
Thanks Larry!
Thank you for your reply.
Of course if the Neutral is not bonded to the Ground somewhere in the system all of your outlet test will show open ground. Is that the case?
Sure John.
What did you find out?
You were right Larry the disconnect was outside by the meter. I am glad that I have you guys it really gives me encouragement!
We’re glad to help.
