I’m a new inspector in the state of Alaska and I have been trying to get insurance set up for my business and I’m having a hell of a time trying to get some quotes back. I’ve called nearly 15 companies and have only had 1 come back with a quote in the last 3 weeks. Alaska requires general liability and surety but I’m adding E&O. The quote came back at $3086 a year.
InterNACHI’s insurance is “program” has not been helpful what so ever either. My questions are:
what is the normal average annual cost for insurance?
any one have any ideas on where else to look?

I just got mine for here in Tennessee. It’s about $1750 per year with both GL and E&O. It took my agent quite awhile and didn’t come back with much so I went with Internachi 's since their’s came back quickly and for less.
My quote took about 2.5 weeks but it’s been nearly 4 with InterNACHI and have only had 1 reply and nothing back with multiple emails. I’ll keep trying though cause $3100 is insane. Thanks for the reply!
Jacob, The cost of insurance also depends on where you live/work. I am in North East Ohio and pay about $1400.00 for E&O and GL with InterNACHI and they responded with a quote within 24 hours.
Maybe some other Alaska inspectors will reply with some other companies they use.
