Best of luck .Neil

Calling all Canadian InterNACHI inspectors;
I am issuing a challenge to InterNACHI inspectors in other areas of Ontario and the rest of Canada to organize their own regional chapter monthly meeting groups. This is the only way that interNACHI and it’s members are going to have any say in the way that the home inspection industry is run in Canada. Nick and the rest of the InterNACHI team are supplying you with all of the required marketing tools and training that you need to be very successful in your home inspection business. Now all you have to do is take the ball and run with it, so instead of sitting back and waiting for the other inspectors to make a move why don’t you be that inspector. If you do it strictly as a power trip then it will never succeed but if your goal is to help yourself and other InterNACHI members to be the busiest in your region then together everybody will be doing more inspections and making more money. Remember, considering your fellow inspectors as team players and not unwanted competition is the secret to success in this industry. Are you up to the challenge?
Good Luck,
Neil Card

Gee is it starting again
We had the CAHPI, NCA for many years and then PHPIO now it is ACHI out trowling for members .
Many love NACHI as they welcome all .

Well said Neil. We have been doing just that and it’s working very well. One strong healthy organization is much better then a bunch of splinter groups.

Got to remember that this place works like a PONZI scheme…the first ones in get well established in their area. Others trying to establish in that area are, in fact, competitors and with their $$$$$, support INACHI, its vendors and the early joiners. Remember, it has been said by members many times on these boards that only 10% of newbies will survive to have a full time HI career…the other 90% are the PONZI scheme $$$$$ contributors that help keep the whole thing rolling.

The claims of $100,000 per year income are just eye candy. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is too good to be true!!

BTW, Vern. I know Mike Holmes could not legally work in BC, could you??

Roy you call it ‘trowliing’. I call it getting the word out. Nick has offered to do it for us too so I guess he is going to be ‘trowling’ as well.

George,

You should know better; the word intended was trawling;-)!

Trolling (fishing)
From the free Canadian encyclopedia

Trolling is a method of fishing](http://www.theachi.org/content.php) where one or more fishing lines](http://www.theachi.org/content.php?r=134-application), baited with free education](http://www.theachi.org/content.php?r=136-education) and grandfathering](http://www.theachi.org/content.php?r=138-admission-of-members) are drawn through the water on various forums. This may be behind a moving boat, or by slowly winding the line in when fishing from a static position, or even sweeping the line from side-to-side, e.g. when fishing from another](InterNACHI®️ Forum - InterNACHI®️ Forum - A community for home inspectors) forum. Trolling is used to catch newbie’s](InterNACHI®️ Forum - InterNACHI®️ Forum - A community for home inspectors), non affiliated](http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=123770) and even established fish](http://phpic.ca/).
Trolling can be phonetically confused with trawling](http://www.teamster.org/), a different method of fishing where a net (trawl) is drawn through the water instead of lines. Trolling is used both for recreational and commercial fishing whereas trawling is used mainly for commercial fishing.
Trolling from a moving boat involves moving quite slowly through the water. This can be accomplished with the use of a special trolling motor](http://www.theachi.org/content.php?r=114-did-you-know). Multiple lines are often used, and outriggers can be used to spread the lines more widely and reduce their chances of tangling. Downriggers can also be used to keep the lures or baits trailing at a desired depth.

Enjoy your fishing:p!

Thanks Marcel!
So far the fishing has been pretty good!

So George,

How many and what quality to date;-)?

All the best Neil ,This a great time in our industry ,
Groups are needed to help all and NACHI continues to be the place that gives help to every one.

Roy Cooke … RHI…

Well said Roy!!!:stuck_out_tongue:

Here In Canada we have for many years had various association all saying what the can do for our industry .
Along Come NICK and for $269;00 he Gives more education more help and continues to grow.
We have the Canadian association’s for a lot more money they keep telling every one how great they are and how much they can and will do for the industry.
It would be great if they just stopped the Bull***** and did some thing good .
They all seem to run a selfish cult like group and just want our money and give zip to this industry .
OAHI has been conning us for 20~ years CAHPI just about as long and the NCA has scooped the government and many home Inspectors for about ten years .
I find it so Humerous

…They walk [size=1] [size=3]Amongst Us !!!

Yes as a CET and A.Sc.T. and CMI my credentials would be recognized in BC. The Alberta and BC governments have signed an agreement to recognize each others professionals and trades.

I don’t know for sure Brian but Nick “Ponzi” Gromiko has for $289 shown me how to take 5-10 inspections a month from the busiest, well known, agent friendly inspector in town. He teaches us how to offer more, do more and succeed more. $100,000 a year? Nope not this year, should I be disapointed if I make $70,000? wow that sucks for a part time business. I consider anything less than 80 hours a week part time after my previous 10 years in a truck. I would not even still be in this business if it weren’t for NACHI and it’s members. Nick has the experience, knowledge, wisdom and most important–GUTS to build this association. Nick or NACHI has never asked for a dime more than my yearly fee. Not even postage for the stuff they send including the displays for shows.

Brian;Inspectors like you make inspectors like me very successful.
Sorry that you think that $100,000 per year is pie in the sky. This year I am on track to do $120,000 plus I will give another $10,000 to $20,000 worth of business to other InterNACHI inspectors in the Ottawa area and I do all of that while spending 4 weels on vacation this past year which included Christmas and New Years in Mexico, March break in Las Vegas and this past week in Cape Hatteras, North carolina. Atlantic City, New Jersey, and Cape Cod Massachusetts.Tomorrow morning I will be Tuna fishing out in the gulf stream. What are your plans for tomorrow? All I am trying to do here is show other InterNACHi inspectors how to have the same business success and to enjoy life to the fullest. I do not have to worry about your so called competition since 70% of my business currently comes from customer referrals and repeat business. This is what hard work and smart marketing can do.I started five years ago and had to climb over hundreds of already established inspectors in the greater Ottawa area to get myself in one of the top three positions on the first page of Google, Yahoo. and MSN etc. Where is your website listed? Maybe you should consider joining a successful organization like InterNACHI where you too can learn the true meaning of success.

Brian works in Halifax, Nova Scotia and according to his website he also has the unique inspector service of acting as a consultant for divorce cases.
You can see the Litigation page of his website at http://www.ahi-ns.ca/litigation.htm

When things go wrong on a renovation, building project or inspection, many people do not know where to turn for assistance at a reasonable cost. Engineers’ and architects’ rates usually run well over $100/hour + HST. In most cases, this level of consultation is not warranted unless (1) the building was designed “outside” the parameters of the building code using the services of an architect or engineer or (2) specialized testing is needed.
Due to his extensive building background, the inspector has been has been used in litigation by warranty programs, home builders, homeowners, home inspectors and even in divorce cases.
Our charges are based on a first call minimum for a visit to the home or building site to determine the merits of the complaint or problem. After this first meeting, charges are at an hourly rate. Estimates of total costs can be provided.

Very tough for InterNACHI inspectors to compete with this type of professional training. Hey Nick, How fast can InterNACH TV produce a video to get everybody certified as a divorce consultant.

So you see Brian when you have nothing better to do than to seek out and ridicule other inspectors that are trying to make a noticable difference in this fragmented industry you might open yourself up to show others just what a disfunctional failure you really are!
