New style P-Trap?

This is a new sink installed this week, but I have never seen this type of trap. Has anyone seen this before. The flexible drain pipe alone is an issue.

I have never seen a plastic cup strainer. The rest of the contraption is the fairly common octopus crap I suppose.

All those gray pipes and tubes come in a big bag of parts, sold online and at many hardware stores nowadays.

Very common for DIY, Handymen, and Flippers…
Has a smooth wall interior so no clog concerns when installed properly…

It looks similar to snappy trap, which is at least smooth-walled on the inside.

But, did it leak?

Looks like something from the movie Alien.

I guess that is up to interpretation. Looks a bit bumpy from here  I see they say it is UPC compliant, but does not mention IPC compliant. Not sure if it is worth the deep dive until I come across it again. Georgia is IPC.

I agree, it does look bumpy in that video. Here is a cross section I found on Gurgle.
