Hey there new to home inspection with a past in customer service and not much else, if you have any tips I am all ears and would love to hear them. Thanks.
well customer service certainly plays a part…do You have any construction experience ?
Welcome to the forum, Ian,
I do not and a lot of what I have seen says that that is a big help, however I do have family and lot of mentors that do have experience in those fields however.
well You can succeed at this profession without construction experience, it certainly complicates the equation imho…when my client is in front of me saying “what is this Jim”? it is kind of hard to phone a friend…
Don’t rely on it being self sufficient income for at least 3+ years.
Do your market research and make sure there is a demand for more home inspectors.

The best resource is going to be asking real estate agents that operate in your service area. The next best thing to do is go on a covert operation. Call around to current inspectors within an hour drive and pretend to want to book an inspection. See how many days out they are. It’s not foul-proof but it will give you some insight.
