New warnings have been added to the top of every page of "Not For Everyone" forum.

Yes, Nick has summed it up nicely.

I will spare you by not listing the inconsistencies you have displayed on this message board but they are numerous.

I am grateful to Russel Ray who has refrained, in his support of gay marriage, from posting any similar images of male genitalia regarding the consumation of his own marriage. I suppose that discharged semen would also fall under your “medical waste” protection scenario.

While those images may also be considered as “legal” in various jurisdictions, they are still “obscene” and have no place on a message board for home inspectors and the public. Nor should they be accessible to minor children as the NFE section currently is.

The NFE forum is not available to minor children. It is password-protected, unlike most porn sites on the internet.

The NFE **is **accessbile to minor children…has already been accessed by at least one minor child who viewed the image of a child’s genitals that you allow to be seen by them after warnings that it was available to be viewed by minor children…and continues to be just as accessible.

Any member whose cookies allow him to automatically sign on to the message board has a computer in his home that will allow his children to view the obscene images that you apparently promote others to post. Signing on to the NACHI site as a member automatically allows access, without warning, to the possibility of images that are considered by law to be obscene.

Does it increase your website optimization to that much of a degree?

Actually, the true pissing contect never took place in General.

I did actually read that enture thread, and there were no misrepresentation of facts as to how Jim described the photo in question. In fact, he did nothing within the original context of that thread which was 1) factually untrue and 2) inferred to any of the discussions that ensued in NFE thereafter.

It was AFTER a compromise was reached between McKenna and Bushart that the posts were altered to read as they do today.

Other posts n question NEVER took place in a public forum and were limited EXCLUSIVELY to NFE. This is where the words flew and insults exploded like neutron bombs.

Anyone, including Nick, who claims that he or anyone else deleted public references or insults relative to the alleged kiddie porn is full of ****.

This has become an argument of convenience, as Jim has repeatedly asked for his posts to be restored or supplied to him via e-mail. I believe he has the capability to do this, but simply will not.

I also do not believe that the NFE section is truly “password protected”, in a secure sense, as Nick professes. In fact, the ENTIRE NACHI site is password protected, but at a single layer. Hence the notion that NFE is somehow password protected where a member must consciously make the decision to enter, beyond some rinky-dink “warning” is patently absurd.

The proplem here is one of selective enforcement of the rules. I have never been against free speech. I am, however, against the posting of obscenities ANYWHERE on this message board.

We are either a professional organization or we are not.

If one has to log on to Active Rain, is that site not JUST as “password protected”? It certainlyis.

Would John McKenna DARE post that **** over there? No he wouldnt. Would they even ENTERTAIN half of what we post in NFE? I doubt it.

So, we are faced with half-truths and arguments of convenience

If it is okay to post what we like, so long as it is in NFE, just let me know. I can post things that some may view as obscene. So what?

Everything is okay, because it is in a “password protected” area… right?

Nick, just give me the word.

Oh, by the way… how is it, exactly, that an argument in NFE, which is “password protected” POSSIBLY damage anyone? It’s just words, right? LIkewise, how could a person making reference to a post in a “password protected” area, where all they did was describe what was posted by another, and could only be viewed by signed-in members, POSSIBLY damage anyone?

Like I said, this is all bull****. It does, however, raise a larger question in that what true safeguards will be put in place beyond the load of crap created today?

Likely nothing. And that is the true tragedy.

I thought we were all grown up.

I believe you have become unhinged sir.

Give it rest for a bit and see how this all works out.
There is no need to continue this regrettable and avoidable debate.

You believe a lot of things that are untrue.

I have read the ESOP Complaint that a member of this organization has submitted where his 4 1/2 year old daughter was able to clearly view the image that depicted the male genitals of a mutilated child.

I read of her nightmares since viewing the image…and while I have never had much regard or respect for the mental midget who posted the image, I am deeply saddened that NACHI does not care enough for its own members to protect their members’ children from such obscene behavior and images.

Since this thread is being viewed by other professionals in the field who are not members of this association, perhaps they will share their views on what they might not want to accidentally come across on a message board that is presumably relevant to the profession of home inspecting.

I have already shared that I would never have a young child sitting on my lap viewing this message board and would add that includes my wife reading some of your posts.

Who cares what you do?

Is this your usual diatribe on how what you do is always right and what others do is always wrong?

But Mike, should it be your RESPONSIBILITY to chase them out of the room? That is the point. You are deciding for members how they should “protect” others in their homes from something on OUR website?

This is wrong-headed.

We, as a group, are at each others throats because someone didnt simply tell someone who had complained that it was their own fault for viewing the photos.

Isnt that what we are REALLY saying?

If that was the case, why did Nick referr the initial complaint to Bushart and I.

Today, you and I have thrown out some logical ideas regarding 2nd layer passwords. I appreciate that.

Nick is ducking this reasonable suggeston. Why?

Tell me, my friend… why werent we simply told “no”, instead of more rhetoric regardng how great our password protection is?

Mike… do you need to login to InspectionNews? How about the Inspector’s Journal? How about the ASHI site? How about Active Rain?

Of course the answer is yes. So, I suppose those sites are also "password protected".

Would the photo be acceptable in ANY manner on ANY one of thos sites? I doubt it.

Will John M have the courage of his convictions to post them over there? I doubt it. I challenged him to do it before. Even the current version of his photo. Have him upload it under his name and business.

Nick describes all as hunky-dory because he states it was posted in a separate password-protect members only portion of the message board.

His description makes it seem as if the photo was indeed in a SEPARATE, PASSWORD PROTECTED AREA. This would mean that once one has access to the site, even as a membr, that the area in question would require a separate password.

Unfortunately, it doesnt.

It is no different than “Members Only”, with a bogus disclaimer.

This wasn’t a real problem until a member posted a link to the problematic post.

I have shared my fix for the situation and said “brilliant.”

It is compromise that should satisfy all parties.

Get it done and we can return to some sense of civility.

Okay… so I now ask you if providing a link to this post allowed non-members access to it? I’ll answer it. No it didnt.

And your characterization of it as a problematic post kind of sums it up.

As to the last comment, I agree with you.

James, I truly feel what you are saying. But why did you have to bring it to the open forum?

InterNACHI will not delete a member’s post simply because another member, with password access, who, after given plenty of warnings, including the title of the forum itself “Not For Everyone” warning him/her, CHOOSES to read the post or view the images in it. And I’m sure you all can understand why InterNACHI does not want to find itself in the position of having deleting every member’s post that any other member deems “offensive.”

All we ask is that if you suspect your opinion or image might offend someone… stick it in “Not For Everyone” so that no member of the public can read/see it and no member of InterNACHI can complain about it.

All the pious ranting’s ring shallow because the abortion photo is still posted on the same thread. But because someone else included it (twice ) in their post, instead of me, nothing is said.

I deleted the image I posted, and continue to be attacked. The other person has left the his post and image for all to see, but nothing is said.

I see this has now turned into an attack on Nick Gromicko for his statement…

**"Whatever one’s opinion of what it depicts (I am Pro-Life and so my opinion is that it depicts a murder scene), the image, of an unfortunately, perfectly-legal procedure, is not “kiddie porn” and thus not illegal.

I’ve seen this very picture is displayed on large posters, held up by protesters exercising their free speech rights, on the street outside the Phoenixville Hospital every weekend.

Distasteful? Brutal? Yes, but then I believe that is the point being made with it. Illegal? No.** "

I have seen many post by Joe F. that would be banned on Activerain and InspectorNews. So that is a silly position for Joe F. to take (Mr Potty Mouth…LOL)

BTW Joe F… many nude and crude images can be seen without any passwords or warning. Do you want me to prove it to you.? It will take about 1 minutes on google. Many of these sites have no warnings either.

The image of an abortion in a protected area was during an abortion discussion. It was not porn. The police have not come after me, Nick, or the other person who posted the same image twice (both still remain). Lets stop the hype. Relax.

When I sit at my computer and cross over into a password protected area and click on a section of the forum that warns me of possible objectionable material… then I assume the responsibility for what my children see. My kids never saw anything that I did not want them to see on the internet, but I am old fashion and care about my kids.

It is shocking… **“but this very picture is displayed on large posters, held up by protesters exercising their free speech rights, on the street outside the Phoenixville Hospital every weekend (in public)” (Nick Gromicko)

**Perhaps some day everyone, even children complaining to their parents, will wake up to the horrific mass murder we call abortion. Some day these protesters may be called “heroes” by the very children whose lives they saved. In the mean time, they will be bear their persecution with honor.

But it did. And it was a very embarrassing momet to all INACHI members.

There are right and far better ways to handle things like this.

If we cannot keep even a hint of our problems from the general public then we are as bad as the ones willing to do such horriable acks.

It is one thing to say that I think what you just posted is a lot of crap, which I do.

It is another thing for me to illustrate it by using my cell phone to photograph the next turd that I pass while it slides through the grip of my sphincter muscle, and then post it to this message board for home inspectors.

You are not “protecting” the rights of members. You are ignoring their rights by subjecting them…and their families…to graphic and obscene images that no other message board in this industry does or would allow

Knowing that these obscene images are available to be viewed by minors and insisting that they be continued (although I do appreciate your advising John to change his image to that of a less developed child that did not depict the genitals) is, in my opinion, indefensible.

Yeah and in the meantime since 1972 Row Vs. Wade is the law of the land… Deal with it already, cause chances are damn good that will be the law of the land long after your body has been turned into worm ****.

You seem to be of the mistaken impression that I have a duty to preserve the dignity of someone who has already forfeited it, by helping him hide his desire to share his image depicting a child’s genitals with others from the public.

Nothing can be farther from the truth.

It was not until such action was taken that the offensive and obscene image was removed. This was the request that was made by the member who complained to Nick and to whom Nick referred to me.

The poster insisted that the image was “okay” and was suitable for the viewing of children. All I did was share his opinion regarding what he claimed to be suitable for small children with the public.

Nick never advise me to change anything.
