They tried to take him out with all of the conspiracy theories. When that didn’t work they tried to take him out with lawfare. This was the inevitable next and illogical path to try getting rid of him. Obviously, and I would agree, when it is all investigated they will find it was a Loony Left nutjob that was so incensed and worked up by all the hate rhetoric against Trump that he/she took it upon themselves to try doing what the Loony Left as a whole could not do.
Let’s hope this is just a one off and/or they are able to identify and stop anyone else thinking of trying!
The deep state tried to cancel him from social media so that we wouldn’t be able to hear his words, took him off of state ballots so that we wouldn’t be able to vote for him, tried to bankrupt him with hundreds of millions in civil judgements for accusations that surfaced decades late, and tried to imprison him for 34 misdemeanors that were past their statute of limitations.
But now we’re supposed to believe it was one nut, acting alone, who was allowed to be on the roof of a nearby building???
It all backfired. He’ll win a third term in a row come November.
I have to disagree about illogical next step…. Personally, thinking from a “warfare” state of mind, assassination is the perfect next step.
Now, to make myself clear, I am appalled by this and fully support trump, as stated earlier, I am more maga now than before.
However…. That being said…. If the goal is to retain power in a certain side, group, or person, AND you are not particular about how you do this, than from a warfare point of view there are several steps.
First; discredit and take power in a peaceful manner, either through better ideas, policy, or just charisma. This, in a solely positive (or at least not negative) hasn’t been done in my memory… this is why B Carson would have gotten my vote in 16 because I don’t recall the man having negative words to say and I deeply appreciated that (while I also acknowledge that this is why he was unelectable).
if that doesn’t work, discredit and humiliate. this is standard in our politics as i have known them in my life… not solely, but as a major function of elections… “look how bad this person is… they’re (corrupt / horrible / stupid / insert your adjective)… im a much better person because x y and z!”
now there are other steps which can be taken, but lets skip forward and look at what is and what has been…
their candidate is, from a strictly logical point of view, unelectable. he is unlikable, very few people who know him personally say that he is a pleasant person. He still refuses to meet his biological bastard grand daughter (no offense to the child, just describing the situation), which throws out “grandpa Joe”. He has a “stammer” as they claim that he didn’t used to have… now being someone with a stammer (typically only when im highly emotional or have way too many things going in my mind) i call BS on this because he is simply misspeaking. he (and his team) continually get caught in lies, and the public is starting to call bs because the media is starting to after getting angry that he made them look like idiots based on what they had said about him versus how his public appearances have been… and so on…
so basically they cant count on their candidate, whose only truly awesome action in his run and presidency was choosing the only person even worse than himself for vice president so that his own team wont 25th amendment him because they don’t want her at any cost.
so you discredit your opponent… now, making trump look bad just doesn’t work… because we all know who he is… his good and bad sides have been on display since i cant remember and that was the 90s…. you cant say anything about him that we don’t know, and as rational people we weigh good vs bad with intentions and say that its a good deal.
knowing this its gotta be legal… only that raised his support… and the questionable charges are unlikely to stand up to scrutiny… for instance, you cant honestly say that its an unbiased prosecution for the documents when jack smith tampered with the evidence to make it look worse while at the same time not prosecuting the big guy, who did the same thing except for the fact he had no legal reason to ever have had the documents in his position anyway…. or we can look at new york, where he was convicted, and ask…. what was the felony? the judge allowed the jury to mix and match any of three in any amount to get conviction… but the felony itself which allowed a misdemeanor to become a felony and be extended past the statute or limitation, it was never named… well, thats illegal. honestly the state bar should take a long look at the judge who allowed it and decide whether or not he should be disbarred.
so now you try to ruin him financially so he cant afford to run… they tried, but than he went public with the stock shares for a company he owned and (possibly because of their actions) it drew so much interest that over the course of a week he became able to access approximately 4.5 billion dollars… so even if he were to lose appeal it’s not realistically going to make a difference in his personal finances…
There really doesn’t seem to be that many more things which can be done to alter the election… cheating yes, but there are going to be some many eyes due to how questionable the last election was (regardless of whether the cheating was real or not) that this probably isn’t a viable option. In addition, republicans are playing by their rules now, ballot harvesting, early voting, all those changes that benefit one side but typically not the other…
They can’t shove out their player because of several things… the laws make it so they are running out of time. Who would want to step in to a potential loss when trump already has all this recognition and money and they’d have to make an attempt at catch up? A loss would make them look silly, and they don’t want that… ones like Beto down in Texas who think losing makes them look good are not really representative… they don’t want to look like a loser… the delegates do belong to Biden, and if he doesn’t want to step down they can’t force him to short of the 25th amendment, and if they do that they’re stuck with Kamala, who they do not want. Also, forcing Biden out with 25th would create chaos in their party that would hurt them. Finally, if they did pick someone else somehow who isn’t B or H, the new candidate does not have access to the funds raised by B or H… they’d have to raise fresh money.
Given all of this, the only real option for an unscrupulous person or team is to physically remove the opposition. Ie, assassination. And thus trump gets shot. It actually makes perfect sense and if I had been in their position it’s actually the best step that could have been taken (although I would have done a different method… one that would actually work… this was foolish and rudimentary) to accomplish the goal and I’d recommend it as the only viable course. This being said, I suspect that it will be tried again, and if/when he wins in November I would further assume that someone who is emotionally broken by trump derangement syndrome will make an attempt before he seizes power in January.
The only other option is (and I don’t actually know if this is viable not being up on constitutional law) would be to create a situation to suspend elections like WW3 or something… nuclear fallout or something… but like I said I don’t know if this actually even is a thing, or just something I read once that got stuck in my head.
So no, I have to say you’re wrong about this being illogical… it’s the only logical step left.

Third terms are not possible to presidents who are limited to two terms. Only President Biden can win a term “in a row” this November. Either candidate would be winning their second term but only Biden would be consecutive with his first.
I think Nick was making a point about who he believes really won in 2020, not that he actually believes presidents get more than 2 terms max, under normal circumstances. 
So with your detailed outline are you stating that you believe this was an assassination attempt by the Left Wing, Democrat Party, and Democrat leadership?
The Secret Service didn’t do their job. The Trump campaign has been asking for increased SS protection at rallies. But it has been denied by Mayorkas, the Director of Homeland Security. The same goes for RFK, Jr’s campaign officials. There have been several incidents where armed visitors have approached his home and his person. But requests for SS protection have been denied at least four times.
