Orange mortar

I can post photos if needed later but today the crawlspace concrete blocks had orange mortar. Anyone ever seen this before?

I’ve seen colored mortar with bricks.

Hmmm. What’s the point of coloring mortar in the foundation?

Here is a photo. Anything I should know about orange mortar? photo 2.JPG

Works better than Lime mortar. :stuck_out_tongue:

Juan Did You scrape it anywhere to see if maybe it was something someone put over the mortar?

I touched it. Felt like mortar. What would be put over mortar?

Not a concern for me.

Just a diff color Joe?

Could that be high iron in the soil leaching through?

It is the same all the way around the foundation including the foundation stem above grade so I would say probably not.

Maybe it was some type of sealant. Just a guess.

Well no one seems to think its a problem. That’s the most important thing.

And not one person asked you what it tasted like

Hahaha I think they are saving that for a very hot thread thats going on right now

My guess is that the masons had it left over from a previous job and used it in the crawl where the color would not matter.

Very intuitive Pete. Thanks

Well… maybe *you *should throw it out there and show us all that you want to “fit in”!:twisted::mrgreen:

I don’t know what is going on over there but I have no intention of figuring it out.

Chicken!!! (or should I say… pu**y)??? :twisted::twisted:
