A large Russian will collect it for a small percentage. Collections will be viewable on Youtube.

In my case I just send out the Wife’s Uncle who is La Cosa Nostra.
We don’t have issues.
You don’t pay? We don’t send an inspector out.
Simple as that.

For myself, I won’t pay any contractor before the work is done, so I don’t treat my customers differently. They pay after I’ve done the job they hired me to do.
The issue we had was people constantly booking inspections for houses they submitted an offer on, but were not in escrow on. And then canceling the inspection the day before because their offer wasn’t accepted.
We of course tried asking if they were in escrow, but people would just lie and say yes, even though they weren’t. It was costing a ton in lost inspections because we’d be booked up and then all of a sudden our schedule is only 1/2 full the next day. Or worse, they cancel that morning, and then we’re on the hook for paying the inspector for the day under California IWC Wage Order (Section 5)..
So we made it pay in advance or no inspection.
We’ve doubled our business since then.
We are not an escrow state and I can see how that makes a difference. I had a cancellation late yesterday for today. But, I didn’t miss another inspection, so it’s just a day off. I don’t have employees to pay, so I don’t have to deal with that either. If I was in your shoes, I would follow your example and compromise on my principle. In my world view, not all principles are in granite. I am against lying but I will lie and tell my wife that I noticed the new dress, when I really didn’t notice.
