Photo-eyes; When you want to put some work into it, but not all of the work.
What an often seen cartoon, Ryan!
How safe!
This is the first time I have seen them actually mounted at the door’s edges. Normally they are just an inch apart right next to the opener, lol.
I’ve seen hundreds of them like that or real similar. NOT SAFE!
I’ve seen that many times. If they want to put them up there that’s fine with me. I just report that they’re there and that’s it.
Technically, the only write-up would be that they are mounted too high to be effective!!
Lol. That’s funny you say that because I have 3 or so different photo-eye narratives and I debated which one to choose. I chose the “Placement too high” one because I thought it was humorous.
Typical Minnesota sense of humor!
That’s where mine are. I hate those things along with the cats that trip them.
They can put the son-of-a-bitch wherever they want and I would just call them out wherever it’s supposed to be. Is that so hard?
What’s the matter with you people?
How much time you got?
Who me??
Wassa-Matta-U!!
I see pre-1993 openers all the time that still operate as intended.
Like this one from 1992…
I’m still running this gem in my shop with a 10x9 fully insulated steel door. I do have to help it close in cold weather though.
The only problem I’ve had with mine, and it happens for just a couple weeks in early spring in the Morning, is when the sun hits one of them just right and it breaks the beam sending the door back up, so I have to get out of my truck and stand in front of the door to block the beam to get the door all the way down. I’ve gotten used to it and know I have to deal with it a couple times a year.
