Plastic Connector for Copper Pipe

I have installed lots of shark bite fittings never had a leak if they are installed correctly. Installers must remember to remove burr on copper pipe (if that is what you are joining) There is now a generic fitting looks exactly the same as shark bite that they sell at HD but still like to sweat joints if space allows it. ie flammable surroundings.

shark bites are very common around here. Plumbers use them as do homeowners as they require no tools (except emmery cloth), they can be uses on copper and pex, or both so repairs are fast and easy. as far as I know they are approved for permenant use, but can be removed.

The pex compression fittings are cheaper, but require a tool to crimp them this is the way to go if you do a lot, because the shark bites are like $4 each and the price goes up if you want the slip couple, or a “t”. They even now have shark bit valves you can use.
