Propane vs. NG

This is just a spin-off from a different thread.

Appliances are required to be labeled with their designated fuel type.

In this case, the furnace was originally designed for propane and then converted to natural gas.

Hi to all,

Jeff, interesting, when I was growing up in England back in the 60's I remember the whole country being changed over from "town gas" to "natural gas" and all appliances having to be re-jetted for the change, and similar stickers placed on them.

what I was thinking was this was only 35 years or so ago in the UK so there will still be many appliances around of that age that were re-jetted, I have never seen a similar label over here, when did the US switch to natural gas ??

Regards

Gerry

Uhhh. . . dunno ![eusa_think.gif](upload://lNFeGuTetUAtwNVgUSOuUzgrGGK.gif)

This is a bit of a different scenario. This home was in a very rural area. All of the homes originally had propane tanks on their property. Once the city incorporated them, they were converted over to natural gas.

I don't know how old you are, but as far as I know, I've always had NG

Grew up in the boonies (SW South Dakota) in the 60’s. Was all LP. And 40 years later, it still is.
