PVC sewer line support material

So this is a first. Rope is being used to strap a main sewer line and the thermal expansion tank. I would think it wouldn’t work because rope tends to stretch. But is there anything specific required to be used?

Additionally, when I was checking Code Check 8th edition, it stated no metal straps, but that is all I ever see around here in NC.

The rope will stretch over time and cause the pipe to sag. They should be using plastic plumbing strap material: shopping
