I am in the process of making up a reference book for serial numbers (to help determine age) on different makes of A/C, furnaces, etc.

Can anybody tell me the best place(s) to find this kind of information, if any.

Thanks

I bought 20 Preston Guides for my self and friends .
I know of one other and my self who felt they sure are not worth the price . I had a person who wanted one so I gave him mine my buddy also gave his away . No idea how the rest are doing . My thoughts . Would be interested to hear from any one who has the Guide your thoughts ..

I occassionaly use the Carson Dunlop reference book that dates furnaces and A/C, but it too is not great either. Why manufactures just can't put a logical data plate that includes date of manufacture is beyond me, but when did common sense prevail? It would make things so much easier. Some manufactures do put the manufacture date clearly on their products. Saw a Lennox unit with date of manufacture listing month and year. Too easy.

I was manufactured on June 21/56. ![icon_lol.gif](upload://zEgbBCXRskkCTwEux7Bi20ZySza.gif)

Yes I agree, it would make things easier, in a perfect world. But.........
