I can’t remember seeing this before, but on house today, roof has architectural shingles. The ridge is covered with the same materials. I’m recommending it be evaluated by a roofer as the shingles are coming loose, plus other issues like plumbing vents, skylight, etc.
Aren’t the ridges supposed to be capped with different materials than the architectural shingles on the rest of the roof?
Thanks for the responses. When the hurricanes hit here in 2004, many roofs were redone with architectural shingles. Now that I think about it, I’m surprised I haven’t seen this before!
Joshua, I appreciate the references - I’m using them for my report.
