Rubber hose at drain in kitchen sink

Hi,
I need to get data about using at sink drain in kitchen a rubber hose fixed with clamps on the fittings. Can anyone tell

me if this is a 4 Point Inspection issue or just a Home Inspection?

I put another picture but now I have this confusion. I’m not talking about the flexible light gray hose which is of course attached to the dishwasher. I am talking about the rubber hose which is used on the drain, not connected in any way to the dishwasher. On the drain line is it accepted any kind of material, or does it particularly need to be PVC or galvanized steel?
Thanks,

A picture would help.

NOT ALLOWED for permanent installation.

Post a photo or describe it a bit better.

That’s an awfully small ‘sink drain’.

I worked at a Champion Auto when I first got out of high school. It was next door to a fleabag hotel. The owner of the hotel would come in often enough that he knew the part # of the radiator hose that worked best for replacing p-traps.

They aren’t as cheap as they used to be…

If you’re looking for a quality hose for your sink, or anything else, look no further than your local Chevy parts wharehouse. :+1:

I’ve seen car radiator hose used as drain pipe more than once!

If this is what the OP is talking about it’s fine. I’ve been using DW hose since the 80’s. It comes in handy when a cabinet is installed between the DW and the sink. The stock DW hose would not be long enough.

many years back I remember going to the auto parts store for 5/8 heater hose and clamps for dishwasher drains…
