Sad day for America...

As usual you are spot on…only public outcry made him tackle this guy. What a crock, BUT I think it was good to let folks see this nut. Might make them think before this election.

Curt

I agree with Michael B., I now think Bollinger used this opportunity to roast the Loony Toon, and he did a masterful job. However, I was not impressed with how the follow up was handled. The jerk talked like a typical left wing politician, he ranted on and on without saying anything at all. It was so bad in the first 15 minutes that CNN cut away and started a commentary, I changed channels in order to hear him speak unassisted. The applause was much louder than the Boo’s, this came as no surprise, but it still saddens me.

Pay attention to how the Iranian president’s visit is reported in the Islamic world.
We all might learn something.
He has been given some measure of legitimacy that he certainly does not deserve.
I suppose next we should expect that an invitation will be given for Osama or one of his lieutenants to “teach” the American public the error of their ways. Heck, while we’re at it let’s invite Kim Jong il**l **too!

As a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom I am so angry I am seeing green. I was over there dodging the rockets that Iran says they are not providing. I wish I could have been in NY yesterday. You would have saw me on the front page today. I wish the democrats would grow some balls and get some common sense before this country goes down the tubes. I am so afraid that if Hillery gets in she will walk away from the people we have freed. If that happens what Saddam did will pale in relation to what will go on over there. More people will die in the name of Islam than ever.
We will bring our Troops home when the job is done.
"GOD BLESS AMERICA" Yes I said God and am proud I said it.
On the lighter side: I could not follow Islam because I would rather have 70 hookers because they allready know what to do.

Carl, I personally thank you for your service. It’s men like you that make this country great.

Here is how the visit is being reported in in Iran.
“The audience on repeated occasion applauded Ahmadinejad when he touched on international crises.”](http://www2.irna.ir/en/news/view/line-24/0709252616013529.htm)

Does anyone remember how the Columbia students treated this fella?

I am very afraid because these are the future leader all of us in the military fought so hard to keep free. They have no idea what the world is really like. They need to pull there heads out of there a$$ and find out. I get so pi$$ed when I see this on the tv. I wonder why I served for 33 years and still serve.

I wouldn’t be an Islamist because I’ll be dammed if I want to teach 72 virgins how to make love.

OK someone has to do it, I will sacrafice myself for the good of all.

Where are they?

Curt

Bollinger could have made the exact same statement and said that was the reason A+13 would never speak at their college. The effect would have been outstanding and the entire world could have witnessed it. Stupid calculation and it will end up costing Columbia U.

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton’s take on the “I’manutjob” visit.

Somebodytell me again why this man wasn’t confirmed and had to be limited to a recess appointment instead?:frowning:

We need more of this clear headed thinking, not lesss. IMHO

Can we send Bush as part of an exchange program?
This little Iranian president is just a mouth piece for the religious leaders in power over there.
Looks like we attacked the wrong place.
Personally I feel our own government does even worse than allowing the little big mouth to speak by sending all of our money to communist China.
Think the Iron curtain would have fallen if we did the same with Russia.?

Excuse me, but what goods and services did the Soviet Union produce that we wanted?
The government doesn’t send “all our money” to China but consumer’s in this country have decided they rather like the price of the products produced by a labor force that costs much less.
Just look how much China has changed by adopting some Capitalist principals. Let’s hope they also adopt freedom based political reforms as well.

Those decisions were made for the American consumer by WalMart, K-Mart, Mattel, Disney, etc, etc. Corporations moving production to China to save a buck is the cause of that, not the consumer.

That’s right, now they can produce millions of tons of tainted pet food, toys by the millions painted with lead based paints, they are now the largest producer of pollution, etc, etc. Yep, they’re on the right path for sure.

What is surprising about companies looking for cheapr labor?
People won’t stop shopping at Walmart for one reason-they like the price to value ratio.
We can moan all we want about buying American but the reality is that there now exists a global economy that has brought about a certain amount of interdependance and at least some measure of political stability amongst participating nations. China and India need us as much as we need them, so it’s to the benift of each to not upset the apple cart. I’m old enough to remember when India and China were considered to be in absolute poverty. That is no longer the case. Both populations(and many others) have vastly increased their standard of living through trade and increased capatalism.

Regretable for sure but it only represents a very very small portion of their production output. And look what has happened. they are instituting controls to prevent it from happening. Why? Because they don’t want to loose us as a customer.
As far as pollution goes I would ask you what economy can afford to clean up their mess. A prosperous one or a dirt poor one?(Think about Eastern Europe)

Absolutely nothing, as long as it doesn’t kill us in the process.

Yep!

You answered your own question as to why he was not confirmed, he is a clear thinking and intelligent person, that in of itself is a danger to the mental midgets on capitol hill.

And that my friend is a very sad reality.:frowning:

You have it backwards Michael, the decisions were made for those companies by the consumers desire and demands to save a penny. Walmart was built by low prices. As far as your ascertions that China is one of the biggest polluters is correct, and they will remain so, because when and if they had the restrictions that are placed on American manufacturers to meet enviromental standards, they would incur the cost associated with them also, and the playing field would be leveled and there would no longer be a need for these companies to import goods instead of having them made here in the good ol U.S.A… I just wish everyone could see the bigger picture, these discount prices are superficial, when they cost jobs for American workers, there are losses to the economy because all of these unemployed workers no longer have money to spend buying each others goods. I don’t care what any charts or polls or anything else says, these people who are being put out of work are the ones who spend the most money in this country at Walmart, Kmart and the rest. Walmart has figured the differences and it obviously works for them because they are not restricted to the shores of the U.S. the way we are.

Amen Michael Amen!

Communism is alive and well because we are paying for it now, Reagan broke the Russians back, Clinton gave China a back brace. God forbid if we have to go thru another Clinton! I don’t see how anyone could vote for a woman with less sex appeal than a cigar, and a stinkin lawyer at that!!!
