Got these text messages today. Lots of red flags beware of scams. I called the realtor that had this home listed and had sold October 18th. There was already a home inspection done.

Welcome Cody! A lot of threads on the forums about these type of scams. Best to be aware and on top of them. Once detected, always fun to string them out and play their game right back at them.

In some cases, they will try to pay you with a forged or stolen check and they will make up an excuse as to why they need to pay you extra money. For example:
“Your fee is $450? Great. I will make the check out for $1000. Please deduct your fee plus keep an extra $50 for your trouble and then send me back the rest…” If you go through with it, you initially become the suspect in the forgery case that will eventually get filed with the PD once the victim realizes someone paid for an “inspection” with their account details.

EVERY one of these I’ve ever received starts with, “Hi, I’m (name).” I’ve never received any communication from anyone that starts the same way. You’d think these clowns would be smart enough to run their scam through so AI or something.
They really have dried up though… I used to get a few a week and haven’t seen one in months. I’m really starting to miss Andre.

I used to get a few a month and I haven’t had one for a long time now.
They probably figured it is a small pond to begin with and the fish talk to each other on what bait to avoid.
Agreed, they have likely move on another trades group or different target.

Yes…it’s a scam…I never schedule an inspection till I talk to a human being and before that I have to some info…scammers don’t want to give you any real info that you would need to schedule an inspection…
This was quite for a while. I also got one of these scam texts yesterday.
Just ask them for their Realtor and have them call you. They wont.
A quick search on Zillow or Realtor.com could have told you that.

I had the last one going for a couple days. 
Gave the address to the FBI’s fraud department in Denver to send the check to.
How do know their script wasn’t written by AI. (Absolute Idiots). You know English isn’t their first language anyway.
