Paul, there were two meters, the larger on the left was a 200 amp service, and the smaller on the right was o 100 amp service. The panel on the left had a 200 amp service with all the breakers, the panel on the right had a 100 amp service with a 60 amp breaker for an out building…
There was also a splice in the 100 amp panel, the service feed for the 200 was spliced with tape to the 100 amp… Guys I hope this helps…

Main service was a 200 amp, with a meter, the other service was a 100 amp with a meter that supplied power to an out building… Oh yeah single family home

2 meters on one house…a single family Dwelling…would NOT happen here regardless of being OK or not…
Our POCO’s will not put multiple meters on a house for general service…they might tap for a out building or a basement apartment…
It is VERY important on your posts to give as MUCH info as possible…like the fact it has 2 meter cans and the panel setups…very important.
the BINGO here is…you said OUT BUILDING…makes it totally different…but again it comes into the same dwelling or is it an overhang that hits a meter ( 100A Meter ) and then goes straight to the out building…makes a big difference.
Guys for reference…always get a SHOT of the meter setups, panel setups inside and so on if you have a question about a setup…because from the picture alone it gives us information we can’t define…
1.) Could be a prime example of someone coming in after the fact and adding something that was not inspected.
2.) Mast could be coming down inside the dwelling…when it should be on the outside of the dwelling through an overhang at best.
3.) Could be a improper location for main disconnects that are not properly grouped
Sure it may be fine for a Duplex…but leave the fact the wire pulled up the mast on the left goes all the way from the meter up to the connection points…not typical of POCO which usually has splices and/or crimps…none in that wire at all…
So…I REFUSE to make blanket statements online…explain the facts as much as possible when posting for assistance…to many assumptions can be dangerous.
I am guilty of leving out critical info, I apologize… Yes I belive that the 100 amp service goes directly to the out building, I could not confirm it due to building was excluded and locked up… But it was evident that that was the install…
So how about the way they spliced the wiring at the service entrance and inside the panel, would you be concerned?
Ok…I have been doing this nearly 20 years and you have lost me…are these not totally different DROPS…as the whole debate began?
They should not come together except at the point they are spliced together as shown int he images…on the ROOF…if they are installed in the manner of the pictures showing…
OK , they are apliced together in the panel, but there are two meters both were running at inspection time. One was for the home and one was for the out building… Im sorry about the confusion, but this application has honestly confused me…

Are you telling me that BOTH these masts go down to a seperate meter can…THEN come BACK together in a panel where they are AGAIN spliced together…
Is this what you are tell me?

Tim, what is the outbuilding used for? Is it a pumping station for a community well?
