Skylight Wind Mit Inquiry

Just did a home where all products were impact rated except a solartube/skylight. The skylight does not lead to interior space and is only over a Lanai. Would you guys include this or just click N/A. I also recently did a home where the garage door was not impact rated on a home on the water where no area leads into the home from the garage. I’ve seen guys in these forums say that doesnt need to be impact rated so to confirm I actually reached out to Frontline udnerwriting and the person I spoke with told me they dont care that EVERY opening would still need to be impact rated to receive the credit so im at odds here a little bit.

Im starting to think their theory is not about wind penetrating and uplifting the roof but more about having to replace broken windows/glass from storms which in their case would mean they want ALL openings protected regardless..

All openings, all skylights, “installed on the structure”.

Don’t try to interpret or read more into the intent than is listed on the form.

This is how I write it up but there are guys in this forum who state otherwise and mention code but I dont think carriers give a crap about the code they dont want to give the credit if they think they may have to replace windows from a bad storm.

Its not about replacing windows, its about the air pressure difference that is created when a window breaks.

Even impact rated windows can be damaged/cracked, and will need replacement if hit hard enough. And many impact windows have the sacrificial panel at the exterior as well, which would obviously break if hit.
