Having trouble finding an app for slope angle measurement (in rise/run format instead of just angle degrees) for my iPhone. Anyone find a good one?
Welcome to the forum, Jesse have fun and enjoy.
Pitchgauge is great. Camera mode is awesome.
I agree, Pitchguage.
Thanks for the help!
Anything for Android?
Search “pitch gauge” in the Play Store.
I use this one…
Looks like there are some others you could try if that one don’t work.
Take a look at that RedX Roof app. Seems to have good reviews and may have what your looking for.
I used Hover. Check this out.

Why use phone apps? Purchase tools. Analog or digital.
1: You look more professional. 2: The bright sun light will not impede a blurry mobile phone screen. 3: More accurate.

Morning, Bert. Hope to find you well and in good spirits today.
Thank you for you impute on Jesse Starr thread, Slope Angle inspection app and leaning towards my post. “Your The Best!”
Those digital levels are great.
What was the slope angle of the roof in the first image? Is that 1.11:12?
That’s insane to shingle a roof with that slope. You could install a tennis court on that roof and no one would be the wiser.
How about a level and a tape measure? Both are always in the truck. Hold the level with the bubble centered and measure the vertical. 16 inch rise at the end of a 48 inch level = 4/12
A picture is worth a thousand words. Can you imagine what the underside of the sheathing looked like? (Northern Indiana)
Less than 1/12 is crazy, Richard. They will surely have trouble with that one. I find that occasionally when a homeowner decides to cover their deck or patio and they don’t know standard building practices.
Yes, Robert, my measurement in that custom built new construction lake house was 1.11/12 slope. I find it amazing that a builder would not know better.
Here is one from last month I had that was slightly less than 1/12. It was 0.99/12.
Bert I installed, as best as the company owner would suggest, and sold roof coverings for my company later on. That being said, the home owners trumps all. Even when sensible recommendations are provided.
I walked away for unreasonable requests. Even if they said they would not pursue me if a leak occurred. Right Pinocchio. Tell that to Geppetto.
